Ron Laver introduces the latest Brockley News which looks back over a special live radio/zoom simulcast to celebrate the work of nursing staff at the Royal National Hospital in Stanmore with messages from senior nursing officers and live music.

Find out the winners of the annual Staff Achievement Awards for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. The guest host for the night was comedian Ian Stone, who chatted to us before the ceremony. Plus we hear from some of the winners, as well as senior staff from the hospital.

Rebecca Lewis introduced highlights from a special presentation by OPUS of equipment purchased from the Tesco Bags of Help Grant, secured by Steel Bones for paediatric users at RNOH Stanmore.Rebecca chats to Emma Joy-Staines, the Development Manager at Steel Bones, and ‎Sandra Staffiero from OPUS. We also hear from the RNOH Chief Executive Rob Hurd, and the new RNOH Chairman Dominic Dodd.

Revd Wendy Brooker introduces her 21st and final Carol Service at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.

The event was funded by the RNOH Charity, and featured the Buttercup Singers.

We also caught up afterwards with the RNOH Chief Executive Rob Hurd.

Ron Laver first joined Radio Brockley at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital way back in 1974, and has gone on to become the station's second longest serving member.

In this edition, we listen back to highlights of his presentation, including the Hospital Broadcasting Association President, June Snowden, some of Ron's family, and Radio Brockley members past and present.
