As we’re staying on the theme for this whole podcast, which is why do we settle for less? This is going to be the next segment of do we beg for love and acceptance and if we do, how do we take this out of our baggage?

Life has been pretty hectic for me right now and so I got on here to tell the truth on how I am processing it all.

It’s hard being the villain in your own story. But, telling other people is even harder. Tune in as the start off of Season 2 with me telling the story about how I cheated on my (boyfriend) now turned fiancé, when I first got to college.

Do you really love that person? Or do you love the idea of them? A hard truth to admit is when you fall in love with the thought of a person instead of who they are. We get caught up with the comfort they give us and what they offer us that we often neglect who they are as a human. We tend to hurt and damage ourselves when we overlook the red flags and not trusting people when they show us their true colors. Let’s unpack this baggage!

Let’s take the time to look at ourselves and why we hold ourselves back simply because we don’t forgive ourselves. Life can sometimes be out of our control and life happens. But, when we have certain circumstances where we don’t handle problems right or the way we treat others. We beat ourselves down and often put ourselves last. We become our own obstacle and struggle. We judge and criticize ourselves. Let’s stop that and heal. Forgive yourself.

Being a pastor kid comes with many struggles and challenges. A common thread with pastor kids is that we are often overlooked, undervalued, and unseen. We do so much behind closed doors and behind the scenes that goes unnoticed. In church, we are simply just seen as “the pastor’s kids” but we take on the biggest role and the hardest task. Which is sharing our parents with ministry and sacrificing so much of our life for the church.

Let’s dive deep into what is it like to have daddy issues! Daddy issues is the evidence of lacking love or certain trait that we didn’t get from our dad which shows up in our adulthood as we face challenges and situations. We often struggle with our self worth and seek validation from others to fill the holes our dad left us with. Let’s unpack this baggage!

Rejection is always hurt us and it can make us doubt ourselves. It often makes us think we are not good enough. But, rejection is also a good thing! It is a blessing because it is redirection and protection! Let’s change our mindsets on rejection! Not everyone knows how to handle your value!
