"Jehoshaphat's Folly"

In Song of Solomon, a poetic metaphor of our relationship with Jesus, we are told that, "[we are our] beloved's, and His desire is for us."  That's a powerful statement.  In other words, He is inviting us into a deep and personal relationship with Him based upon mutual love.  Jesus affirms this in Matthew chapter 22 when He tells us that the greatest of all the commandments is that we love our God first and most.  

What does it look like when we get that right?  And what happens when we begin loving anything or anyone more than God, and get that wrong?  

We look to an account on the life of King Jehoshaphat to answer those questions (2 Chronicles 17-19), and then we're asked a deeper and more penetrating question:  Is He good enough for us?

They also discuss the difference between grace and mercy and how often sometimes we mix the two things. We hope this episode brings you things He wants you to hear. We hope that this episode and the conversation around the table brings a light into the season you might be going through.

This week, the round table discusses what it means to "work for God", or how it is that God "works" on us.  Are we working for God His way, or are we trying to work for Him our way, and why does it matter?
