Broken Record Ministries

This week we continue discussing Carl's most recent mission trip to Philadelphia.  Do you believe in miracles?  Do you believe God still raises from the dead?  Do you believe in deliverance from demonic oppression?  If not, then the experiences shared in this episode will challenge you greatly (in the best possible way).  Let God be glorified, and may the captives be set free!

Thanks for listening.  We pray that it’s a blessing to you!  If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to reach out to us via email or social media:

In the 23rd Psalm, David mentions the promise of the cup that overflows.  Scripture talks extensively, in fact, about what it is that we are, and should be, putting into our cup (or our heart).  That's what our overflowing round table gets together to discuss this week:  What are we putting into our cup, and what's flowing out of it?  Is it good?  Is it bad?  And if it's bad, how do we fix it?

Thanks for listening!  We pray that this is a blessing to you.

In this week’s episode of our limited Philly Faith series, we go off the script again (due to the absence of Big Mike) to walk through the entirety of Psalm 23.  It leads to a great study, and some great conversations.  Are you following after the Good Shepherd (Jesus), and are you learning the lessons He has for you along the way?

In this episode the round tablers are asked two questions. When did Jesus find them? How did it feel when they actually listened? Some of the answers may surprise you and some you might of heard before. It all makes for a great conversation as a couple other questions arise that they discuss.

This week, we had plans to continue our discussion from part one regarding Carl’s most recent mission trip to Philadelphia, but Abba’s plans are always better.  As we open our discussion by reading Psalm 23:4, Will was inspired to share his testimony about the dark valley he had to walk through, and where it led him.  You won’t want to miss this one.

In this episode Coffee Mike takes the lead and asks the round table about being comfortable. Is it helpful, hurtful in our walk? How easy is it to slip in and out of being comfortable? Listen in as they discuss their walks being on and off cruise control.

“River of Life” by Steven Salfelder

This week, in place of the B-Side, we sit down for part one in a short series of episodes that we’re calling That Philly Faith (as a throwback to Carl’s old podcast previous to joining Broken Record Ministries).

We lead off with a deep dive discussion on a passage from Peter’s first letter, covering multiple points, such as what it means to be “like-minded”, the importance of using our words righteously, giving Jesus first place in our lives, and how it is we should be sharing the Gospel.

Finally, we talk about Peter’s encouragement to be ready at all times to give a right response to anyone that may ask us about our faith.  With that theme in mind, Carl shares about what he experienced on day one of his most recent mission trip to Kensington, Philadelphia.

Bible Study:  1 Peter 3:8-15

In this episode the round tablers discuss what it's like to praise and follow God At All Times. A question is asked and they take turns answering what it means for them. Personal stories are shared and how tough it is sometimes to Praise Him... At All Times.

In this episode the round table discusses how their approach has changed when talking to people about God and Jesus. They even dive into how they've some help a long the way and how that help has opened their minds and hearts to different approaches. Still sharing the hard Truth but being a little more kinder and gentler along the way.

In this previously unreleased episode, the guys begin by talking about how we so often over complicate the Gospel, or veer too far in the opposite direction and water it down.  Why do we do this, and why does it matter?  That leads to a discussion about meeting people where they are, even in the darkest of “valleys” (like the Kensington area of Philadelphia), with the Truth that they’re ready for.

That brings up the topic of traveling to bring the Gospel to those far from home.  Why would He call us to do that, as opposed to just staying where we are?  Ron leads Carl to an epiphany in response to that question.

Finally, after our song break, Carl shares an uncomfortable lesson he learned during the previous Sabbath, which leads to our Bible study this week:  The account of Moses’ experience with Abba on Mount Nebo at his death.   We discover a couple fascinating tidbits in that passage, but we especially learn a deeply touching lesson on the tender love of the Father toward those He calls His children, even when they’ve stumbled.

Bible Study:  Deuteronomy 34
