The town of Brookline is ending its police Walk and Talk program in which officers spend time at Brookline Housing Authority properties chatting with residents or playing with neighborhood children in an effort to become part of the community. Critics of the program say it can lead to over-policing of low-income residents and people of color while proponents argue Walk and Talk is exactly the kind of community-based policing most towns are trying to emulate since it makes officers more approachable to the residents and vice versa. Brookline Select Board Member Bernard Greene joins Dan to discuss the issue.
