Today, we try to offend everybody! We ask Ye what he was thinking (I mean, honestly, what is he thinking?). We ask Gettr live-streamer, @theisabelbrown, "how does a picture of you lighting candles prove you have resurrection life?" We then ask both of them (and Pope Paul IV) about the Jews (for funsies). And finally, Our Daily Bread managed to upset me this week (not very hard to do, if I'm honest).

We pause to consider what is going on with the children in these last days. The most vulnerable among us used, abused, and even murdered. We note that the world is more concerned with shutting up Kanye than with stopping the exploitation of children. There is great wickedness in this world and it starts with the powerful. It's time we put politics and our teams aside and speak up for the little ones.

We meander a bit in a very general way about Christmas. I'm actually not too keen on the religious end (but I'm not terribly upset about it), but I very much enjoy the season. With the rest of the universe, we start our Christmas chatting early this year. There's also a small bit about the war in Ukraine, but quite small, I promise.

Today, we briefly look at the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, even more briefly look at the recent election, and then we move on to the subject at hand: those who sneak in among us (us being Evangelicals). Hey, I don't mind anyone selling their wares (theological or otherwise), but at least be upfront about it.

We chat about the topic of depression. Seems like so many today suffer with some degree of depression. We ponder the who, what, and why of depression.

When we pray or gather or read the scriptures, we must accept that God knows best. But in addition to that, we have to know what age we're living in so we can pray more accurately and be more sensitive to how God works in this age. If you're praying the prayers meant for others or if you expect God to act the same in all ages, you will be confused and disappointed. Noah may have prayed for a worldwide flood, but it would be useless for us to so. The same can be said of the miraculous and instantaneous events of the synoptics and Acts age.

Looking around for a hero that's not coming (well, not from the current cast of characters). We continue to encourage you to be your won authority, because you're going to answer as your own authority.

We step back from our previous call to stop looking at everyone on the other side of the political divide "evil" and point out where there really is evil. That is, in the seats of power. We take aim at BOTH political parties here and your humble host calls on all of us to become unaffiliated and to stop feeding the beast (donations). They gin up fear and hatred, we write them checks. Kinda stupid when you think about it. Along the way, we dip our toes into the climate change debate.

There are a lot of thinks the Lord says in the synoptic gospels, and consequently there are a lot of things believers today like to explain away. Now, if you think that means that I want believers today to take the Lord's words literally and start obeying them, you'd be quite wrong! We do need to take the Lord literally (when he speaks plainly), but I'm not pretending he's talking to me. If you think he's talking to you, go read the Lord's words and ask yourself if what he says is even possible today. We tackle this issue in today's podcast.

Ever wonder why the politicians never seem to actually solve anything, as we pass 30 trillion dollars in national debt? It's because they don't want to solve anything! Both sides do it. They want to keep issues alive to keep us at each other's throat and so we will given them more money and power based on a promise they'll solve it. But they never do! Later. Rinse. Repeat. Check your email. I bet you've got a scary fundraising email in there!
