Gods unchanging Word is proof enough 

Solus Christus/sola gratia/sola fide/ Christ alone by grace alone through faith alone.

Abram was stedfast and resolved that God is his portion 

Abram ends up right where he started and him and lot part ways.

We definitely go wrong when what we see overpowers the faith that we have

If you want to please God you absolutely positively can not do that without faith period point blank.

My faith Hope and trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ who Gave himself a sacrifice for my sin and the sin of the whole world. This hope offers  no promise that everything in this life will go without any troubles.

Mankind is always convinced that we have a better way. History has shown us the foolishness in our wisdom, but like children with no experience upon which to pull from and judge we run head long into disaster.
