Proverbs 18:13 is a good verse to go to when sifting through issues and trying to figure out what position you will hold. Sometimes we can't get certain information, sometimes access is cut off, in some countries access is controlled. So there are always unique situations that will take different unique ways to apply this truth. What doesn't change is we as Christians need to hold to the standard God set out for giving and answer to a matter. For those of us who do have access to information we need to way as much of the information as possible against how we answer. We need to be able to think circumspectly seeing things from as many angles as possible and filtering our answers and approaches through the Bible.
Here we look in the book of 1 Chronicles chapter 19 and we see what happens when Hanun reacts based on false information. we see in verse 3 Hanun receives false information and doesn't check the source which he did have access to. His reaction is misguided due to false information Verse 4. Now there is a problem being addressed that would not be a problem had he had all the facts verse 6. In verse 19 there are heavy consequences to this false information that could have been avoided
