We are called to be a community of intention. Yes, we have routines deeply embedded into the traditions of the church. The routines inform so much of our faith and are responsible for the kinds of people we are becoming. But our intentional movements as a community are the things that make us distinct.

Sometimes, church seems boring because we aren't passionately living for God and seeking the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Today in our series, Why Is Church So Pastor Don takes a direct look at gossip. Jesus said a good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart. God didnt place people on this earth for our entertainment, but for our love. And God calls us to treat each other with respect, honor and dignity, to be in community with each other by building up and not tearing down, to remove all gossip which destroys, and to base our relationships with each other on love and regard for who God created us to be.

We are told to love God with our heart, soul, strength and our minds. We shouldn't shy away from an intellectual faith where questions are welcomed as paths towards deeper relationship with God.

On this Sunday of Pentecost, Pastor Thomas Cross reminds us that we are not meant to be effective out of our own power or desires or ego. It is God's Spirit that leads us to do more than we could ask or imagine for the Kingdom.
