Brother Lawrence...Mother Teresa...

Listen Later

A Saint in our lifetime.  Mother Teresa.  How fortunate we are to know of her life  and her great works. She is an inspiration to us all.  Mother could be found in the slums, in search of the most destitute people, poor, abandoned, forgotten were highly sought after by this great woman of faith.  My first recollection of her was on television she was sitting on the curb of a street holding in her arms an undernourished baby with her mother begging for food from people passing by.  Mother Teresa had no qualms whatsoever about hitting the pavement really hard when the sick, the poor, the undernourished were in need of love, compassion, and  assistance.  How is it that God himself placed within this woman a heart unlike any other in our lifetime?  Her devotion was real, and her mission was to eradicate poverty through coporal and spiritual works of mercy.  Mother understood fully her great purpose in life, she was to give back to society everything that it was lacking.  Nothing was lacking in Mother.  It was the complete opposite.  Mother gave everything she had, in love for Christ and His children.  She lived by being an example for us to follow.  Her mission was completed before our very eyes.  We need more women like Mother Teresa today.

President Ronald Reagan, Princess Diana, Pope John Paul II, and Blessed Mother Teresa were exceptional people in our lifetime desiring to make a positive impact in the world.  They did everything within their power to lift up society.  In and through good works and good deeds they followed Christ and immitatted Christ for the sake of all humanity.  They were givers not takers.  And I love that about them.  Others were always put before themselves.  The happiness and health and well being of others was upheld greatly in their eyes.  They were all very powerful figures in the 1980's, everyone greatly respected their roles in society, and each and everyone of those individuals did in fact change our world for the better.  We too have a part to play in this life.  To add to the great legacy they have begun and to honor them by the good we plan to do.  They were given to us for a reason.  A president, a princess, a pope, and a saint.  Each and everyone of them moved hearts, moved mountains, and today I am deeply reflecting upon their greatest contributions to mankind, to womankind in thanksgiving because their lives represented everything each and everyone of us should be doing in any capacity we can.  We must never be idle, we must always be ready to serve eachother.  Our country, our souls, our eternity depends upon it.  Let us do everything we can while we can, for we too were given this great life, at this great time in the history of our nation to shine.  Let us do exactly that, be the bright light of hope in the world eradicating all hopelessness forever!
