God spoke clearly to Joseph about the future of his family. But it was not clear how the dreams were to be applied. The brothers of Joseph were jealous of how Jacob treated Joseph, so they took matters into their own hands and removed Joseph, thinking that would solve the problem. But God did not forget Joseph or the promise made to Abraham.
