Secret Affair is a JTBC melodrama released in 2014. It is a romantic story between a woman in her 40s and a man in his early 20s while keeping in mind the social, cultural, and historical perspective. The story draws highlights various things which are prevalent in contemporary Korean society and tries to debunk and normalize attraction between people having a significant age gap between them.

tvN’s 2019 Drama "Crash Landing on You" is a popular modern-age love story between a South Korean rich heiress and a North Korean Military man. Set across either side of the #DMZ, the story caused an uproar worldwide due to the nature of the story, adorable romance, and accuracy of the portrayal of North Korean culture and society. The story also gave us an insider's view of the Korean Penninsula, but at the same time, tried to make us aware that similar conflicts exist in our day to day lives, and is not only restricted to Korean states.
