Well, this is the season finale! Already?! I know, I know. But, here it is.
Today, I got to sit down with a new friend that I’d met less than a year ago. Kindall Tyson, M.Ed, LPC, NBCC, has been living in Beijing for the past few years. She works as a school counselor here and also has her own agency, Aspire Counseling and Wellness. Although we met last year, we didn’t really reconnect until after my episode on my mental health aired during season 2.
Once people were actually looking for therapists here in Beijing, I reached out to her to let her know that I’d be sharing her information with those that were interested. That’s when our friendship began. We went out for brunch, and now we’re checking in with each other and going out on friend dates. This friendship is definitely a breath of fresh air for me and it’s led me to other blossoming friendships with other Black women in Beijing. We do get a little emotional here, as well, but what’s a bit of tears between friends?
