The Bruce Highway Advisory Council, one of Queensland Premier David Crisafulli’s key commitments from the state election, met for the first time in Townsville yesterday.

Between 2019 and 2023, an average of 31 people were killed in crashes on the Bruce per year. 

Owner of Nortrans and representative on the Highway Advisory Council, Kent Battle, told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "It's unsafe, it's black, lacking in so many areas with basic infrastructure and safety.
