Poetry On Life

Bruises

Listen Later

Bruises

Loneliness, and no place to go

A tearful Sun, the horizon aglow

But,

Fading as the Orb sets for the night

Gone, somewhere till Dawn and the, uncertain, morrow

The aching heart, rent, that cries with pain

The state of Truth when, from it, you refrain,

The broken bits of wretched earth

Turned to dust, ignored by rain

Bruises.

Shredded feelings, no warp, no weft

Compassion dead, nothing left,

Such hurts and bruises way beyond

The wounds of war and the “arms” of deft.

Bottomless pits and dungeons dark

Nocturnal wails, no singing lark,

Falling into the deepest abyss

Bruised emotions, naked and stark.

Bruises

Superficial bruises just skin deep

A little ache, a break or two, a weep

But, never do they a lifetime last

As the ones we closet and hidden keep.

Hearts and minds hurt, in despair

Never likely to fully repair,

Wounds, we know, need time and patience

To heal, a lot of thinking a lot of care.

Bruises.
