  • The Little Mermaid-Body Image, Ursula, Finding Love, and Competition Between Women FT. Krissy
On this episode my friend Krissy joins us to discuss The Little Mermaid. We discuss in depth how The Little Mermaid can have an affect on a young girls body image and how they gave a negative narrative to curvy contoured women. Ariel dreams of being part of the human world, meets Prince Eric and falls in love first sight. A very common narrative in the Disney Universe, of the princess's finding love and dismissing all the rest they wanted in life. Eric all though we don't have much negative to say about him, Disney pushes the fact that beauty is love. Yes attraction is important, but there is more to falling in love with someone than just their looks. We also touch on the competition between Ariel and Ursula while as a kid we might find this just silly, it goes into a deeper issue of the competition between women. In our society women are in a constant competition with each other because of the norms that where taught to us at a young age that some won't even share simple things like "where did you get that bag". Join in on our conversation, comment your thoughts, or send me a DM @_MandiRose if you got something you want to add.

  • Procabulary-How your words affect your daily life. Ft. Jenny Patton
On this episode we venture into the power of words. Jenny, who is a life & wellness fitness coach,  talks to us about words in our daily life. Most of us don't pay much attention to how we talk and the type of words we use. When these words could have a huge impact on your emotions, how you view yourself and others, as well as relationships. How often have you said something like "Maybe, I will work out today"... Not realizing that MAYBE is giving you an out. Words are powerful in many ways, we can use them as manifestations, we use them to express our feelings, and we use them to build and create. Would you want to build something on a maybe, or have a relationship that probably is okay? NO.. So why do we continue to use these words in our daily vocabulary. If you want to challenge yourself, make an effort to limit the use of words better know as "SOFT TALK".

It is important that you remember to take care of yourself and your mental during this time. Take a break when needed, relax, breathe, be active, plan, and keep the convo going. Four years ago I dealt with it and couldn't sleep after the election. It's real and you are not alone if you have it. I hope you enjoy the episode and once again they are just small suggestions on things that helped me and could maybe help you.

  • "Because you're a GIRL" -Ft. Pamela
On this episode I invited my friend Pamela to be a guest host. We both grew up in a Mexican household, with older brothers. We both also had strict parents and their favorite answer for why we couldn't do things was "Because you're a girl". We explore our child and teenage years, and how at young ages we tried to understand why we weren't equal with our brothers. We also talk about how it did effect us in different ways. Everything from dating, spending a night at a girlfriends house, talking on the phone, and just going out. All of these had restrictions because we were girls. Is this fair...???? It's a great question I ask you to think about and explore.

  • You Don't Speak Spanish??? -- No, but Yes I am Mexican
On this episode I invite two of my cousins one from each side to talk about why we didn't get taught Spanish, and how it has effected us in our life. Yes, we are Mexican. Just because we don't speak Spanish doesn't mean we aren't. Our families went thru a time in California that involved the Chicano Movement, and for some not speaking Spanish was a way to survive and make it. This episode to bring a little bit of education on reasons why families in that era choose to not teach their kids Spanish, the outcomes that it had on us kids, and the judgement we get from others in our own community. A lot of people might not agree with what our families choose, but this is our story.
