In Romans 16:1–27, Paul brings his letter to a close with what may seem like a simple list of names—but it is far more than that. It is a beautiful picture of the gospel at work in real people, forming a diverse, loving, and united church family.
This chapter shows us that the gospel does not just save individuals; it creates a people. A community marked by deep affection, shared identity in Christ, and unity across every human barrier.
But this kind of unity must be both lived and protected, and ultimately, it rests in the hands of a faithful and powerful God who strengthens His church.
As we reach the end of Romans, we are called to live this gospel community, protect this gospel unity, and trust this glorious God.
