(Batesville, AR) The Batesville High School Charter is proud to announce Coach Ryan Morrow has been named the new Head Football Coach for the Batesville Pioneers. Morrow is a 2006 Pioneer graduate, and attended Henderson State University where he obtained his degree in Physical Education, Health, and Leisure. He came back to his alma mater in 2017 as the Offensive Line Coach through the 2021 season and helped lead the Pioneers to many victories. Morrow played under Coach Dave King during his 26 years reign and will be catapulting those same values of leadership, tradition, and pioneer excellence in his Head Coach position.
Coach Ryan Morrow stated, “It’s been a dream of mine since I was 18 years old to be just like my mentor Coach King and have the opportunity to come back and coach with him; the last few years have been nothing short of amazing. I got to sit next to my coach, my mentor, and my friend and develop into the coach, husband, father, and man that I am today. Now getting the opportunity to lead the Pioneers into the future, I’m going to do my best to make him proud.”
Coach Morrow says our goals and expectations of the program haven’t changed. He plans to compete for a conference championship and by doing that, have a home playoff game and compete for a state championship. Morrow hopes he and his fellow coaching staff will lead a team the school, town, and community can be proud of. Coach Ryan Morrow is the proud father of Ruby, Eli, and Brock Morrow and married to Candace Morrow. Coach Ryan Morrow said they informed the team today at 1:47 p.m. and immediately started their Pioneer Olympics competition after.
Coach Dave King said, “I couldn’t be more proud of Ryan to become the next head football coach at BHS. He along with his staff will do an outstanding job to lead the Pioneers.”
