Arthur Moon is a project led by NY-based musician Lora-Faye Åshuvud, whose boundary-pushing performance and vocals style blends well with an experimental sort of electronic dance music to create a hazy, unsettling, yet inviting take on pop. The band dropped by Serious Business Music in Brooklyn to give us this intimate look at their impeccable song stylings.

Brooklyn musician Sean Cahill’s band The Next Great American Novelist has been a study in change. Nearly reaching its end when a meeting with Jason Cummings launched the current phase of the reinvigorated project, which blends dreamy, melodic indie rock with hints of sun-kissed pop in a way that feels somewhat more West Coast than Brooklyn in a super refreshing way. The band dropped by Serious Business Music in Brooklyn to brighten up the basement studio for this session.

It’s hard to imagine that before meeting via Craigslist, Desert Sharks were just strangers swimming in the sea of the Brooklyn music scene. The music of Maneka - the sonically-eclectic project of guitarist Devin McKnight, also of the band Speedy Ortiz - draws on a multitude of influences in an attempt to reflect McKnight’s unique cultural perspective as a person of color in an overwhelmingly white-dominated music scene.
