Wikipedia describes the LNAH as having the unofficial reputation of the toughest hockey league in the world. Back in the early 2000's, it was not uncommon for the fight leaders to have 70+ fights in a single season. Until 2011, the league was still averaging 3.2 fights per game. The AHL has often been referred to as the Jungle or the Wild West. This is true but imagine a league where teams had 5 or more heavyweights licking their chops as you entered their barn. About Bucket Drop Podcast

The NHL used to be chok full of characters. You had your rats, your tough guys, your skilled guys and one thing was for sure ; if you were going to take liberties, you better be able to face the…
music. This made it very exciting to attend a game. You know it was going to be electric if an opposing pest was coming to town and especially if he had recently taken a cheap shot against your team. This created rivalries. Who can forget Tucker getting elbowed by Kovalev or Lucic beating the crap out of Komisarek? Watching games with your friends would start arguments and get people talking. Rules have made it impossible for some players to show their toughness and let their personalities shine through. The NHL has become all about skill and in my opinion very boring. Let's bring back old time hockey. Or at least let's talk about it and maybe someone will listen. Take care of your K's and let the buckets drop.
