🎙️ We’ve got a bonus episode for you!
This one was first recorded for our sister podcast The Bucket List Board Gamers—but it quickly became clear the conversation was heading deep into video game territory too. In the end, it turned into the perfect hybrid episode across both shows… so we just had to release it here as well!
YouTube legend Dan “DJ Slope” Ibbertson (of Slope’s Game Room) joins Jay for a wide-ranging chat covering board games, video games, collectibles, and plenty more.
Expect stories from his hit Kickscammers series, candid insights into the gamer’s mindset, why meeting your heroes isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be, and—of course—plenty of video game talk for good measure.
Enjoy!

🎙️ Yes, we’re back to Mario again! 🍄✨
But this time… we’re not talking about one Mario game. Not two. Nope. We’re talking about SIX of the bloody things!
In our quest to blitz the backlog (and because we’ve already ranted, raved, and reminisced about most of these before), we’re diving into...
⭐ Super Mario Wonder
🍄 Super Mario Bros. 3
🐱 Super Mario 3D World
🏰 Super Mario 64
🌌 Super Mario Galaxy
🌍 Super Mario Odyssey
And that’s not all! We’re joined by Aaron for a round of “What We’ve Been Playing” 🎧—plus a few cheeky tangents, because, well… it wouldn’t be us without them. 😉
🎯 Whether you’re here for nostalgia, ranting or just a good old Mario love (and hate) fest, this one’s got it all!
What links Mario Party Superstars, Pikmin 4 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2? This episode, obviously!
Yes, they have next to no link, but with the Switch 2 out recently, a new Mario Party update due soon and THPS 3 & 4 releasing in just a few days, we took the opportunity to get 3 games off the list!
Plus we discuss what we've been playing with Aaron, plenty of Milking It (including what might be the worst case of ALL TIME) and more!
Enjoy!
Yes the Bucket List Gamers podcast is BACK after a month-long hiatus, and we're returning with a 4-Game bonanza centred around Creation!
All the games we are looking at have an element of creation in there, from Little Big Planet to The Sims 4!
We also talk a little bit about the price of games, The Switch 2, and Aaron & Jay tell us what they've been playing!
Don't forget you can join us for LIVE streaming every Thursday at 8pm @ www.theblg.tv!
Enjoy!
Us, jumping on a bandwagon? Never!
We'd ALWAYS planned to take a look at Minecraft this week... honest!
Yes, Minecraft, if you don't know what it is then I'm amazed you're even reading this at the moment to be honest. The game needs no explanation, but does it deserve to be on the Bucket List? We'll decide!
Plus we discuss the movie that coincidentally came out earlier this month, and the Switch 2 release date and price announcement.
Oh, and we also have the terribly named 'What we've Been Playing' segment too!
Enjoy!
This episode we're looking at one of the best and one of the worst from two separate franchises, as we cast our gaze over Rayman Legends and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze!
Plus we talk about 'Thank Goodness You're Here', what's (relatively) new on Gamepass and PS Plus, and in an as-yet-unnamed feature we discuss what we've been playing this week!
Enjoy!
P.S. We still haven't found out what the Encyclopedia game was... but Jay is going to dig it out and take a picture so we'll update here when he does!
Update!
It was the Hutchinson’s Multimedia Encyclopaedia!
We're back with a bang as this episode we look at arguably one of the greatest games ever made in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild!
But we're not alone! To look at a game of such epic magnitude (and to provide an alternative opinion to 'weapon degradation is bad') we've brought in a Guest! Trevor from Birdworks, creator of Governor of the West, joined us for this one and we had a good old chat.
Enjoy!
** Useful Information **
If you'd like to know more about Governor of the West, you can check out the Steam Page!
Why did the chicken cross the road? To listen to this awesome episode of the Bucket List Gamers Podcast, of course.
Sorry, we immediately feel bad for writing that... but this IS a decent episode, if we do say so ourselves.
We're looking at FOUR different mobile games this time, of varying degrees of quality, plus we talk a bit about the Switch 2 Announcement, Flappy Bird, EA shutting down a load of servers and the Until Dawn movie.
Enjoy!
Happy New Year Bucket List-ners, and welcome to the 2nd Annual Bucket List Gamers Awards!
We've taken the same categories from last year's Christmas extravaganza and made our Awards show a New Year special!
It's bigger, it's better, it's not QUITE as long, and unlike last year both Jay and Eddie recorded using decent quality microphones, so even though they might be talking absolute nonsense, it doesn't sound too bad either.
We also talk about Funko Fusion, which we were provided a free Switch Key to try out by 1010 Games, so thank you very much to them for giving us the opportunity to play it! We’ll be releasing a more in depth YouTube review in due course!
Thank you to everyone who listened through 2024 and continues to support us in any way in 2025, we'd give you an award too if we could! But we ARE giving you the chance to win some nice little prizes in our competition which is set to run until the end of January!
Check out our Instagram or Facebook pages for more information on how to win!
Enjoy!

Merry Christmas everyone!
'Tis the season to be merry and treat yourselves, so this week we've given ourselves a week away from the list and instead we're talking about games with a Christmas theme, or a Christmas element... it's all quite vague but I think it's become apparent over the past year and a half that we wouldn't have it any other way!
We've got our Naughty and Nice lists to go through, so grab a tub of Roses (not Quality Street), a big lump of cheese (not a mince pie) a generous glass full of Snowball (definitely NOT Eggnog!) and get cosy as we make your festive season merry and bright!
Enjoy!
**Bucket List Reviews**
You may have heard in the episode that we are working on a website where we will have WRITTEN content to accompany our podcasts!
Unfortunately issues with the server where we built the website have delayed the launch, but we're hopeful it will be ready to go by the New Year so keep an eye on our Social Media pages!
