While most fans were enjoying a relaxing long holiday weekend, there was a lot of big news for Ohio State on the recruiting trail.

The Buckeyes landed a massive commitment from a 5-star defensive tackle, suffered a surprising last-minute miss on another top recruit, got a flood of Crystal Ball picks for a 5-star edge rusher, and learned when several of their top remaining defensive targets will be announcing their commitments in the next month.

There are four top targets for Ohio State's 2024 recruiting class with commitment dates set for some time in the month of July - starting today. So how many of them will end up being Buckeyes?

Ohio State already has commitments from a pair of 5-star wide receivers for 2024, and the Buckeyes are in contention to sign at least seven more 5-star prospects in the class.

So will this year's class manage to top the seven 5-stars they signed in 2021?
