Buckeyes TomOrrow Morning

In his last full game, Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba put up the single greatest performance in school history, with 15 catches for 347 yards and three touchdowns. However, he hasn't been able to stay on the field for a complete 60 minutes since then.

Tuesday, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day provided an update on Smith-Njigba's status, as well as a number of other big storylines leading in to this weekend's big game in State College against Penn State.

Kevin Noon of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss them all including:
- The challenge of playing in front of a hostile Beaver Stadium crowd
- How Day balances coaching CJ Stroud during games without overwhelming him with too much information
- The remarkable comeback season for Lathan Ransom, who was named a Thorpe Award semifinalist this week
- The status of defensive backs Josh Proctor and Cameron Brown, who missed the Iowa game
- The challenge posed by Penn State's dynamic pair of cornerbacks
- Whether the Buckeyes script specific plays on offense at the start of the game

It's Penn State week inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, but there are already more than a few people around the state of Ohio who are taking a sneak peek ahead at the Michigan game already.

In this episode, Tony Gerdeman of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to answer three of the biggest questions we got about the upcoming showdown between the Buckeyes and Wolverines.

- Which team has a tougher schedule in the leadup to The Game?
- Can the team that loses on November 26 still make it into the College Football Playoff field?
- Which coach has more on the line this year, Jim Harbaugh or Ryan Day?

There was a lot to talk about after Ohio State's 54-10 win over Iowa on Saturday.

From the Buckeyes' first-half red-zone struggles, to an occasionally inconsistent day from CJ Stroud, to a dominating defensive performance, and lingering questions about how much longer Kirk Ferentz can have his son run one of the worst offenses in recent memory.

On today's episode, you'll hear directly from Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, star QB CJ Stroud, defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz, and Hawkeye DE Joe Evans, the only player to score for Iowa all day.

The Ohio State Buckeyes rolled to a 54-10 over Iowa on Saturday inside Ohio Stadium.

While the final score might suggest a truly dominating performance on both sides of the ball, the reality wasn't quite as universally positive for the Buckeyes.

Kevin Noon of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss three potential negatives, and whether they are legitimate concerns, as well as three things that Buckeye fans should unquestionably feel good about.

Entering week 8 of the college football season, there are only nine unbeaten teams remaining in FBS, and several of them are underdogs this weekend.

Will Syracuse, UCLA, and Ole Miss all suffer their first losses of the season? Or can they continue their Cinderella runs for another week?

Tony Gerdeman of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to preview some of the biggest games of the week.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are back on the field following their week off, getting set to face the Iowa Hawkeyes.

While the Iowa offense doesn't figure to present much of a challenge for the Buckeyes (or anyone else for that matter) the Hawkeye defense is another story.

Ross Fulton, BuckeyeHuddle.com's Xs and Os guru, joins host Tom Orr to preview this weekend's game.

- Why is Iowa struggling so badly on offense this season?
- Is Ohio State's defense a good of bad matchup for the Hawkeyes?
- What does Iowa do on defense, and why does it work so well?
- Plus, a look back at what Ross learned from last weekend's Michigan vs. Penn State game.

Tyseer Denmark, one of the very best wide receivers in the class of 2024, has long been considered an Ohio State lean. He announced this week that he would commit in about a month, and he has a visit scheduled this weekend to see the White Out at Penn State. Is that a big concern for the Buckeyes?

Marc Givler of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to talk about that and several other big topics about Ohio State recruiting.

- With a pair of elite pass-rushers set to announce soon, who are the Buckeyes most likely to land?
- How likely is it that Ohio State can end up signing all three of the 5-star defensive linemen they're chasing for 2023?
- Who are some in-state prospects for 2024 who could earn a Buckeye offer between now and signing day?
- And much more.

The Ohio State Buckeyes kick off the second half of their regular season on Saturday against Iowa.

While the Hawkeyes have an offense that might politely be described as "inept" their defense ranks among the very best in the nation. So can Iowa slow down the Buckeyes enough to keep things close in the Horseshoe?

Kevin Noon of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss that and much more.

- Is Jaxon Smith-Njigba coming back this weekend? And if so, what does that mean for the offense?
- How have the Buckeyes been so effective in the Red Zone this season after struggling in 2021?
- How much has Ohio State's shocking blowout loss in Iowa City come up this week?

Ohio State just offered another safety for the class of 2023. So why did that happen, and why didn't they reach out sooner rather than this late in the cycle?

BuckeyeHuddle.com's Tony Gerdeman joins host Tom Orr to discuss that and answer another question from listeners.

You can find much more detailed information on the offer to Adon Shuler in Alex Gleitman's A-Deck column at BuckeyeHuddle.com, and hear Tony and Tom answer many more listener questions on the episode of the Buckeye Weekly podcast that will drop on Tuesday.

Tennessee is... good? Alabama's defense is... not? Is the Big Ten back to being the Big 2, Little 12? And is the Big Ten West almost a lock to have a team make its first-ever appearance in the Big Ten Championship?

Week 7 of the college football season may have changed a lot about what we thought would happen this fall.

Tony Gerdeman of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss six things they learned from a week of crazy finishes and big upsets.
