Buckeyes TomOrrow Morning

Ohio State is set to hold its annual Pro Day inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Wednesday. That's an event designed to let former Buckeye players work out in front of just about every NFL team all at once.

But this year's Pro Day could end up telling us a lot about the battle for the 2024 Ohio State quarterback job as well, between Will Howard and Devin Brown.

Tony Gerdeman of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss that and much more on this episode of the Buckeyes TomOrrow Morning podcast.

The Ohio State wide receiver room has had a remarkable string of incredible performances over the past few years. From Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson to Jaxon Smith-Njigba to Marvin Harrison, Jr. and Emeka Egbuka, Brian Hartline's unit has produced some of the nation's best players year after year.

Now, with Harrison headed to the NFL and Egbuka entering his final season as a Buckeye, two young receivers could be on the verge of joining that exclusive list. Carnell Tate was impressive as a freshman in 2023, and Jeremiah Smith is already turning heads in his first couple of months in Columbus.

Tony Gerdeman of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss the signs that they could be the next great receivers at Ohio State, as well as the Buckeyes' most underrated transfer addition for 2024, and more.

Jake Diebler took over as the interim head coach of the Ohio State basketball program on February 14 following the firing of Chris Holtmann.

Diebler led the Buckeyes to a 5-1 record to close the regular season, and beat Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Illinois. Now, Diebler has been announced as the new head coach of the program.

Tony Gerdeman and Kevin Noon of BuckeyeHuddle.com join host Tom Orr to break down the hiring, including why it's happening now, their thoughts on the move, and more.

This is a bonus episode of the Daily Huddle podcast, featuring host Garrett Searight.

The Daily Huddle is basically the "Buckeyes TomOrrow Morning" of our sister site, SaturdayGlory.com, which focuses on the bigger picture of college football.

This episode looks at how the Big Ten is in a win-win situation with the College Football Playoff. But could they be negotiating with the idea that one of their moves could force Notre Dame to join the league? Garrett Searight ponders that thought on today's edition of the Daily Huddle College Football Podcast.

When Tony Alford left Ohio State for Michigan, he left behind a talented running back room, some uncertainty on the recruiting front, and more than a few Buckeye fans concerned that he might take the program's playbook up Route 23 to Ann Arbor.

So how big of a concern is that? BuckeyeHuddle.com's Xs and Os guru Ross Fulton joins host Tom Orr to discuss how much intel Alford could really bring with him, and how much it might actually matter when the Buckeyes and Wolverines face off in late November.

The Ohio State Buckeyes got a shock this week with the announcement that running backs coach Tony Alford was headed north to take over the same role with the Buckeyes' archrivals from Michigan.

How much will that move impact Ohio State on the recruiting trail this year? Marc Givler of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss how Alford's departure could change Ohio State's chances at landing top national prospects like Jordan Davison, as well as one big name running back coach from another national power who could take over for Alford in Columbus.

One of the assistant coaches in college football's greatest rivalry just switched sides. Former Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford just made a shocking move to take the same position with the Buckeyes' arch rivals, the Michigan Wolverines.

Tony Gerdeman and Kevin Noon of BuckeyeHuddle.com join host Tom Orr to break down everything you need to know, including why Alford might make the move, the impact of the timing of his jump, who Ryan Day might target as a replacement, and much more.

About a month ago, the 2023-24 Ohio State basketball season was basically dead. The team had lost 9 of its previous 11 games, and was hovering around the bottom of the conference standings.

But after firing head coach Chris Holtmann, the Buckeyes completely turned their season around. Under interim coach Jake Diebler, they knocked off Purdue, Michigan State, and Nebraska as part of the 5-1 stretch to close the regular season. Now, they enter Big Ten Tournament play needing two wins to have a good chance to make the NCAA Tournament field.

Can Diebler and the Buckeyes continue their incredible turnaround?

Kevin Noon of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss that and preview the 2024 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament.

Ohio State senior cornerback Denzel Burke is known for his honesty in interviews. At the Cotton Bowl, he wasn't willing to get too worked up over incoming freshman WR Jeremiah Smith, saying that he wanted to see him in person before sharing his thoughts.

Now, just two practices into the spring, Burke was ready to talk about the freshman, and the things he had to say should get Buckeye fans very excited for the future.

In this episode of the Buckeyes TomOrrow Morning podcast, you'll hear directly from Burke on the addition of Caleb Downs to the defensive backfield, the return of Lathan Ransom from injury, what it's like playing across from Davison Igbinosun, his first thoughts on transfer QB Will Howard, and much more.

The Ohio State defense returns the majority of its defensive line and secondary but lost two starters at linebacker following the 2023 season.

Now, as the Buckeyes go through spring practice, one of the biggest questions is whether young standouts like CJ Hicks, Gabe Powers, and Sonny Styles are ready to take on a bigger role with the team.

In this episode of the Buckeyes TomOrrow Morning podcast, you'll hear directly from Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles about that and much more.
