I would like to explore different religions, so I bought this book to learn about Buddhism. This is a really nice book if you are looking to learn about Buddhism. It covers many different topics such as, Where did Buddhism start? The practice of Buddhism focuses not just on benefiting and developing oneself, but on the needs of others as well. Buddhism does not include the idea of worshipping a creator God. Buddhist practices such as meditation are means of changing oneself in order to develop the qualities of awareness, kindness, and wisdom. I found this book a great introduction in Buddhism. It has helped me resume a routine of meditation. It is amazing how relaxing meditation truly is once you give it a chance. A worthy read and surprisingly easy to stay involved.

Perfect Introduction
Just what I was looking for. I've tried other texts before, but getting along about half way and I was usually left scratching my head. If you need a succinct, no nonsense guide to the basics of Budhhism, that can then be expanded on based on your next level of curiosity, then I recommend reading this book.
Great for Beginners
Buddhism is a very abstract and mystery religion in many parts of the world.
