This week, we're switching things up and recording outside the studio!
We chat about what it's been like building Buff & Shine, turning our friendship into a business, and some of the things we've had to figure out along the way.
Somehow, the conversation takes us all the way back to the year 1300, where we try to figure out if we'd actually be useful back then. We also get into what being a freedom fighter would look like today, our thoughts on the Springboks, and how rugby can reach more South Africans.
And since we're at Creator Fest, we couldn't leave without talking about content creation. We're joined by a guest who gives us the lowdown on TikTok's algorithm and how creators can get their content seen.
As always, there's a bit of everything in this one!
Shoutout to everyone who's been supporting us and helping us grow this little thing of ours.
Don't forget to like, comment, subscribe and let us know what you think!

We made it to the season finale!
For our final episode of Season 1, we’re reflecting on the last ten episodes, the community we’ve built, and everything we’ve learnt along the way.
We get into relationships, from breadcrumbing and ghosting to emotional maturity and how our views on intimacy have changed as we’ve grown. We also talk about our career journeys, the unexpected turns that brought us to content creation and Buff & Shine, and why we’ve learnt to trust the process instead of trying to plan every five years of our lives.
We’re taking a little production break while we figure out what’s next for Season 2, but we’re not disappearing. You’ll still find us on TikTok, Instagram and X, so keep the conversations going with us there.
Thank you for riding with us through Season 1. In the meantime, there are ten episodes to catch up on, so go binge them and we’ll see you for Season 2.

This week, we are getting into the conversations that always seem to get people talking.
We unpack what masculinity means to us, why vulnerability can be so difficult for men, and how the expectations we grow up with shape the way we show up in the world. Then we dive into a debate that's bound to have a few different opinions: is flirting cheating, or does it depend on the situation?
As always, we catch up on everything happening in pop culture and sport, share what's been on our radar, and wrap things up with a game and a few laughs
This week is all about checking in with the Buff & Shine community.
We're reflecting on some of your comments, clearing up a few assumptions, and revisiting conversations that sparked the biggest discussions. From mental health and taking a break when life gets overwhelming, to code switching, dating, and learning to handle rejection with maturity, we share our perspectives and a few personal stories along the way.
We also talk about how our experiences shape the way we move through the world, the importance of making people feel safe, and why some of life's biggest lessons come from simply listening to one another.
This week, we are talking about one of the biggest challenges in modern dating: choice.
With dating apps, social media, and the idea that there's always someone "better" out there, it's easy to get caught up in the search for what's next. But at what point do you stop looking and start choosing?
We unpack what commitment looks like, why comparison can get in the way of a good relationship, and how knowing your worth changes the way you approach love.
This week, we're talking about culture, community, and the realities of navigating both online and offline spaces.
We unpack the meaning behind cultural traditions, the responsibilities that come with family gatherings, and how social media has started to shape moments that were once deeply personal. We also have an honest conversation about the pressure many people feel to provide for their families and why planning for the future is a conversation worth having.
This episode is in partnership with Metropolitan. We explore why planning ahead matters and take a closer look at the Metropolitan No Lapse Funeral Growth Plan - a flexible funeral cover option designed to help you prepare for life's inevitable moments.

This week on Buff & Shine, we have an honest conversation about Pride Month, identity, and what it means to fully embrace who you are. We talk about the realities of coming out, navigating acceptance, finding community, and why representation matters more than we often realise.
We also get into the everyday debates that always seem to come up among friends—from cancelling group trips and getting your money back, to splitting the bill when there are plus-ones involved. Along the way, we share personal stories, lessons we've learned, and a few laughs.
Of course, we couldn't leave sport out of the conversation. We chat about some of the big moments happening locally and internationally before ending the episode with a fun game that tests just how well we know our celebrities and sports stars.
