Imagine a time when doctors didn't was their hands between patients. Its hard to comprehend now but during the mid 1800's it was the norm. It would be Doctor Ignaz Semmelweis who would conclude that hand washing would prevent death. The personal torture he would go through to the find the solution wasn't close to the torture he would receive from his peers. His findings were shunned by the medical field and Iganz would end up in a mental institution. 

In the early hours of July 30th, 1945, Captain Charles McVay and the crew of the U.S.S. Indianapolis (Indy) are in the middle of hell. The Indy has just been torpedoed by a Japanese submarine and is sinking and incredibly fast past. Of the 1195 men on board the ship, only 316 will survive - including McVay. Ludwig Van Beethoven is perhaps the greatest musician of all time. His works are still played some 250 years later and how he created that music is even more amazing.
