We take a break from 1800s America to look at Karl Marx, not as a theorist of political economy, but as a man. Many people are aware of Marxism the doctrine, but how many people know that Marx himself was financially illiterate? 2020's riots and lawlessness wasn't without historical precedent. A little perspective can induce sobriety (just not in the host of the show). We've all heard comparisons of the woke riots with the 70s. Our history is full of examples. On this show we go back to the 1830s and look at two riots where the mobs got away with outright murder, supported by the local officials who were sworn to uphold the law.
