Season 4, episode 22: Restless

So.. was season 4 all just a dream..? Alas no, but perhaps it left you feeling a bit restless? Not unlike this very strange yet wonderful season finale episode!

The Buffy Straya gang talk at length about probably one of the most unique season finales in television history, and definitely one of the best dream representations ever done. This is not a short podcast episode, but perhaps something to tide you over the cold winter (or the desperately hot summer if you're down under like us).

We lightly touch on the problematic representation of The First Slayer, though at the risk of being yet another Tara speaking on behalf of a silenced woman of colour, there are most definitely other voices than ours worth listening to on this topic (see link below, though be wary of spoilers!).

This episode is Helter Skelter.. And not the good kind! It went Here There and Everywhere. But Now and Then had Something to enjoy - namely when the gang Come Together at the end and Twist and Shout at each other. Looks like Buffy will need to get by without A Little Help from her Friends.

Season 4, episode 18: Where the Wild Things Are. We did it again! We disappeared on you all - but now we are back! And unfortunately we are kicking things off with the horniest episode of Buffy ever made, and which totally made our skin crawl. Season 4, episode 17: Superstar. It's a Jonathan episode!!! The Buffy Straya gang has nothing but good things to say about being flung 'Into the Jonathan-Verse' and nothing but bad things to say about Adam (as usual). Fortunately there was a lot more Jonathan than Adam in this episode. Chris had no idea what was happening but came out with a newfound respect and admiration for Jonathan. As usual, Megan had a couple of runner-ups for 'Name that Minor Character' especially when an old one reappears by surprise!

Season 4, Episode 16: Who Are You?

A question our fans may be asking after another extended hiatus!

Season 4, episode 15: This Year's Girl. Going through the first episode of two parts, the Buffy Straya gang is delighted to have Faith back (along with some other favourites, contractually obliged or otherwise). She is a breath of fresh air and so is this episode. Megan is too busy educating everyone on some very specific Australian military slang that she nearly misses this week's Name That Minor Character moment. The whole gang nearly missed another very important moment of the episode, but they thankfully catch it as you can hear by their very audible gasps...

Guess, who's back.. back again!

As usual we had a slightly longer hiatus than planned but we are back with Season 4, episode 14: Goodbye Iowa.

Once again Chris brings fresh perspective with his first watch eyes, Mabel has a Billie Eilish song playing in her head every time Adam is on screen, and Megan was till waiting for the episode to start 15 minutes in!
