Welcome Back to Season 2 of The Foundation Podcast! We have a great kickoff episode with Part One of our two part series featuring Student Facilitator, Raul Rivera. Raul has been working in NJ schools for just about 2 decades now! Raul shows our listeners how to lay a Foundation in the arena of Education with emphasis on Student Engagement and Counseling. Raul breaks down how he has learned innovative ways to interact and connect with young kids in our schools today in order to help them overcome adversity and success in the classroom and at home as well. Raul also provides listeners with an incredibly personal illustration of his early life which included moving back in forth from Miami at age 9, being in a foster home throughout most of his teens, and even going through high school and maintaining the social status of a star athlete all while being HOMELESS throughout high school. Raul also touches on concepts such as the parent/teacher divide, how we can improve daily interactions with students, and some tips for parents at home as well. As always, see if there is anything you can take from Raul's journey that may be helpful to you in building your own Foundation in whatever area of life you choose to! Remember to keep building family! Peace!
