"Gloria: A Life" brings us a richly detailed tapestry about one of the most inspiring and remarkable women of our time. Five decades after Gloria Steinem began raising her voice for equality and championing those of others, her vision is as urgent as ever. Steinem's life’s work and philosophy on the necessity of conversation as a catalyst for change offer us all a path forward in a way that only live theater can. Written by Tony Award-nominee Emily Mann, and directed by visionary Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus, this production celebrates a dynamic all-women cast featuring Christine Lahti, creative and producing team led by Daryl Roth. The first act is Gloria’s story; the second is our own.

The old South lives on at the MacGregor Plantation—in the breeze, in the cotton fields...and in the crack of the whip. It’s an antebellum fever-dream, where fear and desire entwine in the looming shadow of the Master’s House. Jim trembles as Kaneisha handles melons in the cottage, Alana perspires in time with the plucking of Phillip’s fiddle in the boudoir, while Dustin cowers at the heel of Gary’s big, black boot in the barn. Nothing is as it seems, and yet everything is as it seems. In the provocative and explosive new play, "Slave Play," Jeremy O. Harris rips apart history to shed new light on the nexus of race, gender and sexuality in 21st century America.

Directed by Alexis Bloom and executive produced by Alex Gibney, "Divide And Conquer: The Story of Roger Ailes" sheds light on the current moment in American political life by following the arc of Roger Ailes: long-time Republican svengali and controversial founder of Fox News. By coaching an unrivaled stable of politicians over the course of fifty years, Ailes heavily influenced Republican politics, steering the conservative movement from Nixon, to the Tea Party, to Trump. Under his tutelage, anger and fear became the coin of the realm, both on the ballot and on national television. This is a story of serial cruelty, both on the public stage and in private life.

Elizabeth Holtzman has been a principled leader and a persistent voice for equality and accountability since she became the youngest woman ever elected to Congress in 1973, which she remained for forty-two years. But she sees American democratic ideals, and the rule of law in the United States, eroding under President Trump. Her book, "The Case for Impeaching Trump," establishes the requirements for impeachment as set out by the Constitution and proves that President Trump’s actions have already met those requirements. Holtzman makes the definitive, constitutional case that Trump can be impeached―and the process should start now.

"Paris to Pittsburgh" brings to life the impassioned efforts of individuals who are battling the most severe threats of climate change in their own backyards. Set against the national debate over the United States’ energy future — and the Trump administration’s explosive decision to exit the Paris Climate Agreement — the film captures what’s at stake for communities around the country and the inspiring ways Americans are responding. The film is directed by Emmy Award-winning Sidney Beaumont and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Michael Bonfiglio.

Foodstirs is the first and only nationally available brand to receive the Glyphosate Residue Free certification which verifies that our products do not contain the World’s most used herbicide. Creators Galit Laibow, Greg Fleishman and Sarah Michelle Gellar, parents and longtime friends, were touched by the unbeatable way baking helped them connect with their kids. Amazed at the absence of options to make it more natural and accessible, they made their own. They still try everything in their own kitchens and keep us searching for ever more inventive ways to bring baking back and make it better, with people and planet equally in mind.

Telly Leung, currently playing the title character in Disney’s "Aladdin" on Broadway, is releasing a special updated version of the holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” to benefit ASTEP (Artists Striving to End Poverty) this holiday season. Leung joined BUILD to discuss the project.
