On this weeks episode, I have with me someone who is definitely making a difference in her community and changing the lives of children one film at a time. My guest is Ms. Vonnya Pettigrew, an author, and CEO of Root Branch Productions and Root Branch Film Academy. 

She is an award-winning filmmaker, scriptwriter, and TV show producer. She is currently working within the inner city of Baltimore, Maryland. Vonnya is helping children learn how to be filmmakers at a young age so that they can begin to speak their truths as soon as possible.

She grew up with a very diverse background in which she communicated with all types of people which has continued to help her in her adult life and career. Her name is Lisa Brown Alexander. She is the CEO of Nonprofit HR and the author of the book Strong on the Outside, Dying on the Inside.

She shares with us the chronicle of her life include life adjustments, overcoming depression, and her overall success story. In our discussion we touch on the topics of the importance of diversity, how Nonprofits operate, what it means to be a mentor, identifying your strengths, and many more in between.
