Psalm 113 is the first of six Hallel Psalms—psalms which were sung during the Jewish feasts.

In verses 5 and 9 of Psalm 112 the generosity of the blessed person is emphasized. 

Psalm 112 describes the character of a person who fears the Lord and delights in His commandments. 

The fear of the Lord can be understood as reverence for God. It is holy, humble respect for Him. 

Psalm 111 is a remarkable composition because it is an alphabetic acrostic that is a call to praise God.

The mention of Melchizedek in Psalm 110 points to Jesus as the the great high priest of those who are believers in Christ.

Melchizedek is a somewhat mysterious person in Scripture who is mentioned in this Psalm as well as in Genesis and Hebrews. 

Psalm 110 is the most often quoted psalm in the New Testament. 

In the latter part of Psalm 109 King David begins to lament.

Psalm 109 reminds us that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
