01.17.2021 - By Tim Cavey
On January 1, 2021, host Tim Cavey tweeted “All right, educators. Who’s up for the 10,000 push-up challenge this year? We’ll need to average 28 per day and track our progress together.”
At the time, he hoped that maybe a few educators might join him. To his surprise, the tweet was liked hundreds of times, and over 170 educators joined him in a Google Sheet to track their push-up progress together. By January 16, 2021, challenge participants had combined for 66,357 recorded push-ups!
As fun as that is, the challenge isn’t actually about the numbers. It’s about lifestyle change. It’s about gradually building a new daily habit: one that improves our fitness and expands our capacity to serve others.
