With their ranch 75 miles outside of Casper, Wyoming, Leslie Hendry and her family can easily stay isolated. By choosing to get involved with other cattle ranchers through conventions and committees, Leslie has been able to build community for herself.
As the Wyoming Director of Federation of State Beef Councils, Leslie works with others to provide education on the benefits of beef and promote the industry.
For others who live in rural settings, Leslie recommends finding community through your local Farm Bureau, grower meetings in your industry, and online groups. Those who live in rural areas and work in the agricultural industry can provide support and encouragement for one another.
For other men and women in the cattle industry, you can locate your state Beef Council at the National Cattlemen's Beef Association's website or at BeefBoard.org.
