  • Episode Twenty-Seven: The Enchantments of Ikoria

This week, we're getting slightly experimental with the content of the show as we look at the new tri-colored enchantments from Ikoria, and what historical precedents they might have before they release!  Also some baseless speculation on future standard!

  • Episode Twenty-Six: Rally the Ancestors

How do you feel about returning creatures from the graveyard to the battlefield?  Positive?  Well then, we got the deck for you.  This episode, Coleman and Jason are talking about how a deck initially built around Siege Rhino and Sidisi, Brood Tyrant morphed into a deadly combo deck featuring Zulaport Cutthroat and Nantuko Husk.  Rally the Ancestors is now on the stack!

  • Episode Twenty-Five: Spectral Procession

Magic has come a long way for small white creatures since Savannah Lions.  This week, we're back in Lorwyn to look at one of the most efficient token makers, Spectral Procession!  Interestingly enough, the card initially went under the radar, but once Time Spiral rotated out, the synergy between Procession and Windbrisk Heights took it to the finals of PT Kyoto!

Quick note before the episode starts, though.  This episode was recorded about three months ago, so our apologies if some of the information is out of date.

  • Episode Twenty Four: Goblins

This episode, the topic of discussion is the most iconic red tribe of all time, Goblins! When Onslaught released in 2002, it added a ton of new cards to a lot of different tribes, but Goblins had the most tournament success. Even when the format was dominated by Arcbound Ravager, small red creatures still stood a fighting chance!

  • Episode Twenty Three: Turbo Fog

This week, the podcast gets a little hazy as Coleman and Jason tackle an iconic archetype that isn't as old as its reputation suggests.  Starting from the first decklist either of them could find, they track how it changes from its debut in Lorwyn up to the most recent iteration in Khans.  Have fun trying to deal combat damage when your opponent is playing Turbo Fog!

  • Episode Twenty Two: G/B Constellation

With the release of a new Theros set now here, we thought it would be a fun idea to revisit one of the defining decks from the last time enchantments were the focus of a standard set.  Eidolon of Blossoms and Doomwake Giant combine to both draw a billion cards and kill all your opponents creatures this episode with G/B Constellation!

  • Episode Twenty One: Fires of Yavimaya

Welcome to 2020!  This episode, Jason and Coleman take a more casual approach while talking about one of the most iconic G/R enchantments of all time, Fires of Yavimaya.  Also on the table, what would you rather have, Fires or Rythym of the Wild?  Surprisingly more complicated than you might initially think!

  • Episode Twenty: Pro Tour Philadelphia 2011

As an epilogue to our series on Pioneer, we're taking a look at Modern's first tournament before Pioneer gets the same treatment.  In addition to browsing one of the most broken tournament metagames in the last ten years, we see what happens when a new format debuts at the highest level.  Count the cards that are now banned as we go along at Pro Tour Philadelphia 2011!

  • Episode Ninteen: Crush of Tentacles

When your opponent casts Upheaval, how do you feel?  Pretty bad, right?  What about doing it every turn for the rest of the game?  Oh, and there's an 8/8 along for the ride.  On the last part of our trilogy on more recent Standard decks, we'll discuss how a deck with a ten mana engine came to exist in a truly saturated format.  Get your Den Protectors ready, and surge into Crush of Tentacles!
