    • From the very beginning, God built the home. (Genesis 2:18-24; Matthew 19:3-6)
      • Marriage is to be permanent (Matthew 19:6)
      • God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16)
      • Only one cause for divorce (Matthew 19:9)

      • We need to rise up and build godly marriages!

        • Husbands
          • The head of the wife (Ephesians 5:23)
            • The spiritual leader of the home
            • His love must be sacrificial (Ephesians 5:25)
            • His love must be purifying (Ephesians 5:26-27)
            • His love must be caring (Ephesians 5:28-30)
            • His love must be unbreakable (Ephesians 5:31)
            • His love gives honor to his wife (I Peter 3:7)
              • Mistreating your wife can hinder your prayers!
              • Wives
                • Wives are to serve as a help meet to their husbands (Genesis 2:18, 21-23)
                • Wives are to be subject to the leadership of their husbands (Ephesians 5:21-24; Colossians 3:18)
                  • Fear of God (Proverbs 31:30); gentle and quiet spirit (I Peter 3:4); holy, trust in God (I Peter 3:5)
                  • Wives are to love their husbands (Titus 2:4-5)
                  • Be keepers at home (I Timothy 5:14; Titus 2:4-5)
                    • An atmosphere of love (I Corinthians 13:4-7)
                    • Communicate regularly and effectively
                    • Spend time with one another
                    • Render due affection to spouse (I Corinthians 7:3)
                    • Study together and pray together
                    • Total commitment to Lord and our spouse
