Today, Pastor Ed will be reminding us that what happens in our individual lives effects our family, and in turn begins to effect our community and society as a whole. In the Book of Judges, we'll learn how the children of Israel continually did what was right in their own eyes and the consequences of this disobedience ultimately resulted in the downfall of their own children. The best thing you can do as a Christian is cultivate your own relationship with the Lord, so you can be used to influence those around you.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series through the Book of Judges, he'll be challenging us to allow our souls to be molded by the holiness of God, instead of the carnality in the world. Don't be like Samson, who had a clear calling on his life, yet flirted with sin and eventually was destroyed by it. There will always be a choice between living for the Lord and being holy, or living for your flesh and slowly decaying. The only way we will choose holiness, is if we love the Lord with all our being.

As we study the life of Samson, we see his many flaws, and today Pastor Ed will be explaining that Samson is a type of Israel and in some cases, Samson could be a type of Christian. Samson knew that God had a calling on his life, yet he succumbed to the temptation of lust and he intermingled with Delilah, a philistine woman. Samson was warned not to go down this path, but he ignored the warning. Just like Samson, we too need to heed the warnings in God's Word so we can avoid sins consequences.

God is not mocked, you will reap what you sow. As Pastor Ed continues to teach on the life of Samson in the Book of Judges, he'll be reminding us that even though sin is pleasurable, it's only for a season. There are always consequences to sin, and the Lord has given us His Word in order to help us keep away from the destructive impact of sin. Don't allow your flesh, the world, or the devil to tempt you into willful and deliberate sin because conflict will always ensue that lifestyle.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series through the Book of Judges, he'll be encouraging us to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit as we study the life of Samson. Samson was taken captive by the Philistines and was greatly outnumbered, yet God empowered Him to overcome the odds. This just goes to show that with man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible. Whenever your facing a trial, just know that God is big enough to deliver you.

The Bible has a lot to say about how important it is for God's people to be separate form the unbelievers in the world. Today, Pastor Ed will be explaining how Samson's long hair is what separated him from the rest of the people, and once his hair was cut, he lost his power. In the same way, when we as God's children are no longer separate from the wickedness of the world, we lose the power to bring true change to our environment for God.

Today, Pastor Ed will be explaining to us how Jesus appeared to men and woman in the Bible before He was even born. When Jesus appeared in the Old Testament it's called by scholars as a christophany. Many believe that Jesus was the one who met face to face with Abraham, as well as when Samson's mother was told she would have a son. Even during the creation of the world, the Bible say's that in Jesus and through Him all things were made and exist!

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series through the Book of Judges, he'll be exhorting us not to make the same mistakes that Jepthah and the children of Israel made during this time period. The Bible say's that the children of Israel continually disobeyed God and did what was right in their own eyes. Just as the nation of Israel walked according to the ways of the world, we too can be tempted and swayed into partaking in the worlds debauchery if we aren't careful.

Did you know it's possible to have strong faith, but weak doctrine? Today, Pastor Ed will be teaching us the story of Jepthah in the Book of Judges. This man had great faith in God, yet he made a rash vow to God and learned a horrible lesson through it. The Bible say's that it's better to not make any vows to God and for your yes be yes and your no be no. Jepthah didn't have great faith along with sound doctrine. Purpose to add to your faith, the teachings in the Bible on a daily basis, so you can have proper discernment.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series through the Book of Judges, he'll be encouraging us to rise above rejection because Jesus Himself experienced rejection. The Bible say's that no servant is greater than his Master, if the world rejected Jesus, it will reject you as well. Jesus commands His disciples to take up their cross and follow after Him. Taking up your cross isn't just about forsaking your own ambitious desires for your life, or saying no to sin. It's about suffering for following in His foot steps.
