When the Apostle Paul wrote his letter to the Philippian church, he took time to address a known conflict between two active women in the church, Euodia and Syntyche. Paul implored both sisters in the Lord to be united in fellowship so as not to give the enemy any more of a foothold. In today’s message, Pastor Ed points out Euodia and Syntyche are not remembered for their service in the Lord, but are remembered for their conflict. Pastor Ed then urges us to live at peace with each other so we will not leave a divisive legacy.

Satan’s m.o. is divide and conquer. Therefore, whenever we witness great division and disunity inside the church, we know that the enemy is at work. In today’s message from Philippians chapter four, Pastor Ed admonishes us to work hard to remain at peace with our brothers and sisters in Christ. In order to do this, we must rely on Jesus to give us supernatural love and patience in order to deal with difficult situations and personalities that we will inevitably come across when we serve the Lord.

The Apostle Paul considered himself a slave or a bondservant to God and His will and purposes. Because Paul had completely surrendered to Christ, the impact of the Apostle’s life and work can still be felt today. In today’s message, Pastor Ed asks us to examine our impact on this world. Christians should live in the world but not have a worldly focus. In other words, the Lord’s people should be different and live their lives to please Jesus. As we do God’s will, we take part in advancing His Kingdom on earth.

Moses gave up the palaces of Egypt in exchange for roaming the desert with a stiff-necked nation. The Apostle Paul forsook worldly acceptance and accolades and chose to live a rugged life of persecution in order to advance the Gospel. In today’s message, Pastor Ed teaches us that if we are to live a life of faith, the Lord will ask us to throw off the luxuries and cares of this world. The good news is that just like Moses and Paul, when we surrender our very brief physical lives to Jesus, we will be eternally rewarded.

In today’s powerful message from the book of Philippians chapter 3, Pastor Ed teaches us that all of us have a purpose and calling. In other words, the Lord has prepared something specific for each one of His children to do. Therefore, we should press forward with those things God has given us and do and always do our work unto the Lord Jesus. As we give our lives in service to Christ, we anxiously hope and wait for the day when we will look into our King’s eyes and hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

The Apostle Paul was a mighty man of God. However, in the book of Philippians chapter three, Paul confessed that he had not obtained all that the Lord had for him. However, Paul also pointed out that though he had not yet reached all of his goals, he continued striving forward for the sake of Christ. In today’s message, Pastor Ed admonishes us to take personal inventory of where we are in our relationship with the Lord. Although none of us have reached perfection, we are constantly being changed into the likeness of Jesus.

The Apostle Paul had quite an impressive resume before he met Jesus. Paul came from the right Jewish background, received the right education, and had enough religious zeal to drive him to persecute Christians. However, once Paul met the Lord, he considered all of his earthly accomplishments nothing in comparison to knowing Christ. In today’s message, Pastor Ed teaches us that earthly accolades and religious piety do not earn us a personal relationship with God. Only the blood of Jesus has the power to unite us in fellowship with God.

The Bible teaches that all men have fallen short of God’s glory and have broken His laws. However, because of our sinful nature, we in our pride try to work our way back into a right standing with the Lord. Unfortunately, no matter how hard we work, we will always miss the mark. In today’s message, Pastor Ed reminds us of the powerful truth of the sufficiency of Christ. When the Lord died on the cross for our sins, He paid a debt that we could never pay back. Therefore, our only work is to believe in the finished work of Jesus.

We need to be weary of anybody who puts anything as equal to or above Jesus. This even goes for those in the church who may say certain things are required to get to Jesus. Pastor Ed tells us that Paul called these types of people vermin, and evil workers. The fact is, all that is required to get to heaven, is Jesus. All that is required to find beauty in life, is Jesus. All that is required to find your purpose, is Jesus. Any questions, concerns, burdens, or trials that you may have. Take them to Jesus.

Even in the midst of terrible times, God says that joy is our possession. Pastor Ed tells us today, that we are to stay in a state of rejoice and repetition. We should always be remembering the great things God has done for us, and be thankful for it. Not onlythat, but we should be in repetition of His Holy word. Christ our Lord, came to us, so that we might have eternal life. We are saved! Though dark times may come for you. Find joy through knowing that eternity with Christ awaits!
