Building on the Cornerstone episodes

  • Growing In, Out, Together

It’s the start of a new year. It is a time to reflect back on the year that was and more importantly set out a course for the year ahead.

In 2016, Cornerstone is challenged to Grow In, Grow Out, and Grow Together. It is a simple challenge for us as followers of Jesus to grow IN our personal faith and walk with Jesus; OUT in our love and ministry for others in our community who need the touch of Christ in their lives; and TOGETHER as a body of believers who are committed to being a Kingdom outpost in Thomasville, GA.

Listen to the message and the challenge laid out and then join us as we #Grow2016

  • A Riches to Rags Story
Everyone loves a rags to riches story. A story of turning nothing into something. This is not one of those stories. This is the story of Jesus. Jesus left the riches of heaven to dwell in the rags of our world. Through His life as one of us, through His death and resurrection, we can […]

Everyone loves a rags to riches story. A story of turning nothing into something. This is not one of those stories. This is the story of Jesus.

Jesus left the riches of heaven to dwell in the rags of our world. Through His life as one of us, through His death and resurrection, we can live a rags to riches story.

The story of Jesus is a riches to rags story. It is a story for each of us. From His story we can find the riches of heaven.

Let’s face it, Christmas time can be a very stressful time of the year. Cleaning the house, preparing the food, buying gifts, traveling here and there. For many it is a time in which the loss of a loved one weighs heavy on their heart.

It is possible to make it through the holidays with less stress and worry. It is possible when we remember to stop, look, listen, and focus on the Christ. Keep Jesus in mind when you feel overwhelmed this Christmas, turn those feelings over to Him, and remember this story of Martha and Mary (Luke 10:38-42).

  • Advent

This Sunday marks the start of a new season in the Christian calendar, the season of Advent. This is a season of preparation for the arrival or coming of our Lord, Jesus. It serves not just a reminder of what His birth, but that we are awaiting his arrival once more; when He shall return. Advent marks a time for us to re-center our lives on Jesus, to live each day with joyful expectation. During advent, we are reminded that we are to be prepared every day of our lives for His return. And we should ask ourselves, Am I prepared?

  • Twisted – Week 8
This marks the end of the ‘Twisted’ series, and what better topic to end with than the end of times. Take Matthew 24:40-41 by itself and one can build a doctrine around the idea of either being left behind or taken away. Now before you get too excited about being taken away with the Son of Man, […]

  • Twisted – Week 8

This marks the end of the ‘Twisted’ series, and what better topic to end with than the end of times. Take Matthew 24:40-41 by itself and one can build a doctrine around the idea of either being left behind or taken away. Now before you get too excited about being taken away with the Son of Man, it is good to remember that context is key, and to place the verse back into context and see where God’s people will be (Matthew 24).

  • Twisted – Week 7
ἐκκλησία (ekklésia; noun) – a gathering or assembly. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus lays out the foundation for his plan. “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” This passage really gets interesting when you consider that the original Greek did […]
