Dear Mastering Mindset Listeners,
I've taken a brief hiatus (2-months to be exact) due to some grief we have experienced in our family. But we are doing well and are in a better place now.
Today, I wanted to speak to something near and dear to my heart... "Resilience and self-compassion." I always viewed self-compassion as weak and too fluffy. However, I realized over time that self-compassion is something the most resilient people in this world utilize. I spoke about this in episode two and the research I cite is the same... but this episode goes a bit further into talking about real people and house hold names that utilize self-compassion to build resilience in their lives.
If people like Ji-Sung Park used self-compassion to build himself back up when he struggled the worst soccer slump of his professional career, or navy seals officer use phrases to build themselves and others up to get through Basic Underwater Demolition Seals (B.U.D.S) training (aka "Hell Week"), then why should I do the same?
Take a listen as we round out episode 5 of this 6 part series of the Mastering Mindset Podcast.
