They come in pretense, often feigning humility, while inwardly they will eat you alive (if you let them) to get what they want. Usually they want money from us.
Sometimes they want to speculate and make themselves seem wise to themselves and others.
When you speak the good word of God, they strike at you like a serpent, as they reveal themselves, and they grieve both you and the Holy Spirit.
Paul warns: Titus 1:10-11 There are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
Here are some other warnings in Bible about church people who are trying to gain entrance, but for evil motives.

Nothing makes me happier than hearing a word from God and following that word and then sharing that word with the church.
Truly it is in God we live and move and have our being! Acts 17:28
We can look at television and occasionally find something we enjoy. But most of the time I'm just switching channels.
But the word from God is life. And by that word I have hope in the various circumstances of this life, and am comforted, and know what to do.

By the Word of God that the Spirit of God gives us, we know the will of God in the issues of this present life.
The Spirit of God searches the heart of God to show us the will of God. (I Corinthians 2:10-13)
I've had the "Word of God" brought in scripture, in dreams, and in concepts which were brought to my mind by the Spirit of God. In each case, these were "the Word of God." And they came to pass. And I rejoiced in those words and followed those instructions.
It is not the letter of the law that we follow but the Spirit.
God gives each of HIS children HIS Spirit that we can know what God wants us to do as we live on this earth!

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (Mt. 12)
When our words line up with New Testament Bible by the Spirit of God, we will be justified.
We must renew our minds to the Word of God and speak those things which warn and edify the church.

We should see how quickly things can change all over this world.
The Bible shows us that in the last days even a great city will be destroyed in one hour.
Revelation 18 ... 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. 11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
And by the Bible, we will see the time men will cast both gold and silver into the streets as being worthless ... and they will try to hide themselves in caves because of the wrath of God that is coming upon this world.
And in Bible we are told we can use the things of this world but not abuse them. I think many abuse credit to get things. We need to learn to live within our means instead of glorifying ourselves in things of this world.
(On television, they showed, during the 2020 Coronavirus, long lines of cars waiting for food hand-outs. As I looked, I was looking at the cars. In those long lines, I never saw an old car. All the cars were new and shiny. If they are poor people in those new cars, they are poor because they over spent in getting things of this world before hitting the crisis of today.)
This 2020 virus was likely a surprise to see, but we who know Bible, were probably not caught totally unaware, because we see in the scriptures many things that will be coming upon this earth in the last days.
And because of Bible, we do not live in those lusts of this world as does this world. God prepares us by that way HE teaches us to live by the scriptures which keep us from the lusts of the world which would destroy us.

First, do we go the extra mile in dealing with people? Even when they treat us unfairly, do we treat them with good?
Concerning the doctrine, do we live by the doctrines set forth for us by God in the New Testament?
Paul says if we pay attention to ourselves and the doctrine, "In doing this, we will save ourselves and those that hear us." (I Timothy 4:16)

Concerning the end times, Jesus warned us as follows:
Matthew 24
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and His disciples came to Him for to shew Him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
(At the end, all things will be destroyed so don't take pride in that which you can see with you natural eyes.)
3 And as HE sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?
5 For many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
(Many will come saying "Jesus is Lord", calling themselves Christians, and they will deceive many.)
Give them time to prove themselves.

Psalm 105:43;45 And HE brought forth HIS people with joy, and HIS chosen with gladness:
45 That they might observe HIS statutes, and keep HIS laws.
Each time God has moved me from one city to another during my lifetime, it has been with joy and gladness.
(Before HE moves me that city that was once alive to me often goes "dead" and the hope and expectation of good is in the new city.)
And when I find changes in "assignments" or jobs, the same has occurred. God leads me with joy and gladness, not with fear and dread.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

When situations of this life arrive, we should first turn to God in prayer to see what we should do.
Then if we need help from another human, God will provide that person to help us.
I've found people are always in place to help when help is needed and when I know they are appointed by God for this purpose, I can praise God for the help provided.
Some people turn directly to humans when there is a need, but I like to turn first to God and discuss the matter with God.
This podcast shows God helping in time of need.

We are living in the time Paul spoke of in II Thessalonians 2:3-4 where Paul said this had to happen before Jesus returns.
A falling away would first happen. Churches would fall away from scripture to set up other doctrines.
Because of the removal of scripture, antichrist moved into the church groups. The scripture was the only thing holding antichrist back.
We are witnessing the apostasy in the churches now as Paul said we would do in the last days before Jesus' return.
