We briefly go over some pros and cons to the different setups and help you work out some rough calculations to determine size. The saying "size matters" couldn't be more true when determining your brewery. Be smart and do your homework, talk with professionals, and be educated in your decision making. Prancers Farm is a locally owned and family operated farm in Santa Paula, California. Today we welcome Mario, Vanessa, Beto, and Ray to the podcast to discuss a new partnership. We are exploring the ways in which breweries and farms can come together to benefit both businesses as well as the community.  In Episode 8 we discuss how we plan to combine our expertise and create a long lasting partnership.

Breweries use tons of barley annually. Instead of discarding the spent grain, Red Engine Brewing Company will be partnering with Prancers Farm to up-cycle the grain to feed local livestock. In return we will be able to offer our customers a "farm to table" type of experience where the food that they are consuming was grown less than 5 miles away. We feel that this type of relationship and sourcing of produce will maintain a high level of freshness and flavor. 

As this relationship "grows" we are proud to assist Ventura County programs such as 4H and Grange. We are both excited to see what the future holds while maximizing uses of our byproducts and reducing waste.

During this episode we chat with the team at CHARC Design Architectual Firm in Santa Clarita, California about how to build a brewery. If you have never worked with an architect before this episode will be packed with information on what you can expect to happen.

Carolina and Ximena have been practicing architecture for 20 years. Both have extensive experience in restaurants, large commercial chains and now a brewery.  As a team CHARC offers deep value and experience. The team was able to compliment our project from both the design and construction side. 

This step in the process of opening your brewery is going to impact the project and ultimately decide what direction construction will take place. Everything from layout, working with local agencies and completing the CUP (conditional use permit) process will be talked about. Opening a beverage company comes with plenty of forms, applications and contracts. Today we speak with Lucas Noble the principal attorney at Crafted Legal. Lucas and his partner Maddie are located in Central California and represent breweries and wineries throughout the state.

Beer school! Is that even a thing ? It actually is. We take a deep dive into a professional brewing education with Lead Instructor Steve Parkes of the American Brewers Guild in Middlebury Vermont.  The standards in the industry are the highest beer has ever seen. Products are getting better and the consumer is becoming ever more detailed with their palette. This has pushed people to take the art of making beer and the science of making beer more serious.
