Built on Hope

Tis that time again!

In this Episode, Isaac, David and Jess sit down and take a look at the ENOURMOUS Season which is IACP S5. We see fixes from the Wampa to Captain Terro, and gain a plethora of brand new Imperial Assault characters, such as Mara Jade, HK-47, and Dr Aphra (Oh my!). We could not be more excited, and look forward to sharing this season with you all in the upcoming months!

In this episode, Isaac brings on three veteran Imperial Assault players - Jake, Kyle, and Morgan - to discuss the Zabrak in the room: Maul and his trusty Darksaber. After the red-skinned alien took the three Jetpack Cup VSTs by storm, we knew it was high time to take a look at the fallen Sith, analyze his strengths and weaknesses, and the different ways to play him by comparing 4 Top-Tier Tournament lists featuring the man himself.

We hope you enjoy, have a very Merry Christmas and a glorious New Year!

We are back, and so is Olly! In this latest Matchup Analysis Episode, we take a look at the one deployment which was featured in both the very different winning lists of the Season 3 Vassal Seasonal Tournaments: Royal Guards. Isaac, Jessica, and Olly take a deep dive into both of the Tournament-winning lists, discussing strengths (of which there are many) and weaknesses (Of which there are few) of each.

Enjoy the show!

Hi there, Built on Hope and Zion’s Finest listeners!

Jessica here with a short update. (I tried to upload this audio update a few weeks ago but got a you have uploaded too much this month error message). You may have noticed some changes to your podcast experience. As most of you know, Kenny, of the Zion’s Finest podcast, has released his last episode and is no longer continuing the Zion’s Finest podcast. Kenny has officially hung up his hat and stopped hosting the podcast on his Podbean. I felt that it was a complete tragedy for the podcast to not have a place on the internet for listeners to enjoy so asked Kenny if he wanted us, Built on Hope, to host his episodes (since we are paying for our own podcast anyways). He agreed! Thus the Build on Hope Podbean became the new home for the Zion’s Finest archive.

Now…because of how the “import” function works on Podbean, all of you Zion’s Finest listeners have been teleported along with the episodes! That was not actually intentional and I apologise for any confusion or trauma that may have caused, sorry Derek! We are currently working on labelling  the Zion’s Finest episodes so that they are easier to find but it’s going to take us a little time. Unlike Kenny I do actually sleep so…yeah.

Anywho! For anyone that doesn’t know us, Built on Hope is a podcast dedicated to discussing competitive Imperial Assault mostly focused on IACP (the IA continuity project). We try to release episodes every few weeks.

Happy listening everyone!

Hi everyone! Join Jessica, David, and Tom in this episode to dive into a discussion about building a list around Lie in Ambush!

We discuss the strengths and weaknesses of using LiA, David chats to us about two variations of 4 activation Lie in Ambush lists he has been playing around with, and some thoughts about what you can expect taking a LiA list to your next tournament.

Listen to the end to catch Built on Notes' new song "Death from Above"!

Here it is. You get four brothers, two poems (both Wendell Berry), one rant (okay maybe more), and zero regrets. God bless you all. Thank you for letting me and the crew be a part of your lives for as long as we were. I will never, ever, ever forget it.

Here's the schedule:

0:01:00 - Introduction

The most amazing thing about this episode is that, even with our time in the sun having past, WE STILL FOUGHT ABOUT DOUBT! Honestly, it is close to the most glorious moment of the podcast and I'd give anything to be able to pick insane fights with you all on something that will cause all of those participating to RAAAAAAAGE!

Just a reminder, this will be up on Podbean, iTunes, and all other podcast services for two more weeks, then we're going offline. I'd encourage those of you that want to save podcast episodes that you or a friend appeared on to save them quick. I saw that earlier in the week we got a few hundred downloads of older episodes, which I presume are people doing just this. I have the hard copies on my computer, but I'd prefer that everyone download them on their end. But if you're ever needing one, just message me and I should be able to get it to you pretty quick.

The time has finally come!

The eagerly awaited 4th Season of the Imperial Assault Continuity Project is now here, and we can't wait to jump into it! With over 20 new and adjusted cards to add to our collection, we go over each of the three factions one by one, reading out and reviewing each individual card in detail. Hope you all enjoy our thoughts, and we will see you in the next one.

Rebels - 17:22

Imperials - 55:06

Mercenary - 1:30:28

Neutral - 2:02:51

Join Isaac as he brings on veteran player Derek Martens, who has ranked highly in IACP Tournament with none other than the Repulsor Tank! Derek dives into the intricacies of using a Massive Imperial Vehicle in the competitive scene, making this episode invaluable to anyone who wants to wield the full Destructive Capabilities of the Empire to full effect!

And as if that wasn't enough, tune in until the end to hear the full Built on Hope crew Preview and discuss a brand new IACP Season 4 Deployment card... And her Command Card. Thanks for listening!

Notes from news:

Beskar Cup 25th July

We return for yet another META episode! This time we are joined by IACP committee members Noa (@TVBoy from IACommand) and Jake (from the Twin Troopers podcast) to focus on what are the most effective game mechanics available in Imperial Assault skirmish. Noa and Jake also provide unique insights from the game design perspective and chat about what the discussions are like when designing new cards.
