Welcome to BuiltOnAir, a podcast and video series about all things Airtable. Each episode, we talk with someone active in the Airtable community to discuss their experiences and showcase an interesting way they’ve used Airtable in their work.
Today we speak with Edmund Amoye, the host of low-code centric podcast “CodeLess”. CodeLess explores how people use no-code and low-code solutions in their businesses and everyday lives in the form of excellent interviews conducted by Edmund himself. We explore how he became a figure in the no-code space, as well as discuss the meetup he started called "I Want This to Exist,” where members share products and solutions they would find invaluable but, as the title suggests, do not yet seem to exist. For the today’s demo, Edmund shares his base designed to manage discussion topics for weekly meetups. With the aide of Airtable’s simple forms capabilities, Edmund put together a base to collect routine entry from multiple members that makes every meeting just that much more streamlined.

Today we’re joined by Mike San Marzano to give us an inside look at Airconnex, a comprehensive tool adding unique features heretofore unavailable with Airtable alone: the ability to create beautiful websites run on a single Airtable base. While Mike is still finalizing Airconnex, the final product will create beautiful front-end websites via an easy-to-use interface for anything from directories to e-shops. Mike talks about the development process and the challenges faced when creating something like Airconnex. We get a demo of Airconnex in its current form, and while some features are still in the works, Mike extends an invitation to join the open beta to anyone who’d like to build their own Airtable-run website today.

On today’s episode, we speak with Matthew Baggetta: Marketing lead and seasoned content strategist. Matthew has a super interesting back story; he spent years in academia, earning himself two degrees in English and starting to work on a third - a Ph.D. in English and Cultural Theory. While working toward his Ph.D. Matthew made a huge life change, leaving academics to start a new career in Marketing.
Around the same time, Matthew also started a personal meditation practice and went on to found his own meditation instructor training program.
It was within the marketing sphere that he found Airtable. The base Matthew shares with us today is his Content Asset Tracker, which he uses to track content, keywords and meta-data, writer’s assigned posts, and more.
One of the most attractive features of his base lies within his Blog Post Assignment Form. The form allows the user to assign a writer, a post title, keywords, pain points, and internal links to be included within the post. SEO and marketing pros know how important it is to include internal links within your website to increase domain authority, and Matthew’s form makes this extremely simple by including a self-linked field to reference previously published stories when planning new content.

Today we’re joined by Chris Guthrie, an e-commerce aficionado and another featured speaker from this year’s inaugural Airtable Users Conference. In addition to selling his own line of products on Amazon, Chris specializes in helping other sellers maintain and grow successful Amazon Private Label businesses using the power of Airtable and automation. After discussing how his business began and has managed complications brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, Chris shows us his Airtable base that helps keep his orders, shipping, and inventory data in check. With some insight into a few scripts he’s written, we explore his unique approach to solving some popular Airtable sticking points from formulas, to Page Designer.

Welcome to BuiltOnAir, a podcast and video series about all things Airtable. Each episode, we talk with someone active in the Airtable community to discuss their experiences and showcase an interesting way they’ve used Airtable in their work.
In this episode we speak with Shae Redding - Rogers, an architectural photographer based in New York. Earlier this year, Shae was one of several speakers at the first-ever Airtable User’s Conference organized by Chris Dancy, where she showcased her unconventional contacts manager base. Shae gives us a more in-depth view of that base to highlight how it came to be, and how it helps keep track of all the people she meets across professions and social circles. While Shae may consider herself a newbie, she’s not afraid to seek out formulas, Zapier integrations, or Automation scripts to further improve upon her base. In fact, later on in the episode we brainstorm a couple formulas to help automate her work just a bit more.
Formulas we talked about in the episode:

Welcome to BuiltOnAir, a podcast and video series about all things Airtable. Each episode, we talk with someone active in the Airtable community to discuss their experiences and showcase an interesting way they’ve used Airtable in their work.
In this episode we’re joined by Lisa-Marie Pierre, a program manager for Ascend NYC, a Bronx Community College program which connects Bronx minority/women-owned businesses with contracting opportunities. Lisa-Marie may be new to Airtable, but that hasn’t stopped her from diving right in to create a base for the program. Like so many of us, the Covid-19 pandemic has thrown a curveball or two at Lisa-Marie that has made project coordination a bit more difficult. Luckily, with the help of Airtable, she was able to organize a catalog of potential new contacts to reach out to. Lisa-Marie has also made an Airtable base which tracks the progress of her ideas for personal projects. She gives a rundown of its set up and how it differs from other progress trackers on the Airtable Universe to reinforce the ease and value of customizing a base to suit your specific needs.

Nicolas Grenié, Developer Advocate
In this episode we’re joined by Nicolas Grenié, a developer advocate at Typeform and veteran Airtable custom block builder. As a developer advocate, he helps developers build upon Typeform’s existing platform to accomplish advanced, or highly specialized use cases. Naturally, when it came time for Typeform to develop one of the first-ever custom blocks released to the official Blocks Library, Nicolas was just the man to build it. More recently, he built one of the 10 winning projects in the Airtable Custom Blocks Contest. A game-changer for E-commerce bases, his “Shipping Block” can take in an order record, retrieve shipping quotes from multiple companies, generate shipping labels from the selected quote, and even track shipments in progress. We discuss how he came up with the idea for the block, how the Custom Blocks API has changed over time, and a look to the future of custom development for both Typeform and Airtable.

Welcome to BuiltOnAir, a podcast and video series about all things Airtable. Each episode, we talk with someone active in the Airtable community to discuss their experiences and showcase an interesting way they’ve used Airtable in their work.
In this episode we talk to Jennifer Selke, Director of Veteran Programs and Campus Outcomes at Camp Southern Ground, an incredible non-profit which operates as both a summer camp for kids, and a year-round resource center for veterans. Among others, Jennifer directs the Warrior PATHH program, which assists combat veterans in the transition to civilian life through a supportive, mental health-focused approach. In the wake of lockdowns as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Camp Southern Ground has had to improvise a way to digitally provide veterans access to all the resources which are available to them. In comes Airtable: Jennifer was able to put together a simple one-table base to curate a list of 100+ resources for military veterans. While we discuss how it isn’t a perfect substitute for in-person support, it’s a clear example of how a tool like Airtable can let newbies distribute information in a visually appealing format in next to no time at all.

Hello BuiltOnAir listeners! We’ve got a great show for you this week. On today’s episode, we speak with Aron Korenblit from the Education team at Airtable itself. You may recognize him from twitter, the Airtable forum, Airtable webinars, and his livestream videos; in which he teaches users how to get the most out of the powerful tool we know and love.
Aron talks with us today about the exciting release of the Airtable Platform, which launched this week (at the time of this recording). The launch focused on three pillars, Airtable Automations, Airtable Sync, and the Airtable Marketplace, each filled with tons of new features and possibilities.
Airtable Automations, which has been around for the last couple of months, has received a slew of new possible actions, including new integration options with external apps, and two new triggers. Airtable Sync is an answer to a long-awaited feature request, allowing one-way, cross-base sync. Finally, the Airtable Marketplace is the new home for Airtable Blocks (now called Apps), and includes custom apps built by users - such as the Scheduler app by our very own Kamille Parks!
Today, Aron shows off what the Airtable Platform can do by demoing these new features for us. If you haven’t had a chance to try out the new features yet, this episode is a great place to start! Check out the show notes for more about the Airtable Platform, links to upcoming Webinars, and Aron’s livestreams.

In this episode we’re joined by Brian Switchkow, a founding citizen at One Inc Cooperative. One Inc operates as a member-owned, member-controlled virtual economy dedicated to fostering a supportive ecosystem of creatives, entrepreneurs, and investors. Brian and his fellow citizens have helped bring dozens of unique projects to fruition, including a very nifty “spell-check for the soul”. But not all contributions are “monetary,” citizen’s can contribute five different types of capital to a project (there’s financial, but also intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and social capital) at any given time. If that sounds like it requires a lot of data, it's because it does! With so many moving parts, it comes as no surprise that Brian’s two Airtable bases have a number of fields, views and tables to manage it all. But, the beauty of Brian’s approach is that it allows citizens to interact with clean, simple interfaces which only show what needs to be shown with the help of a few handy integrations.
