Alan Hubbard grew up around race cars and semi-trucks, but it wasn't the vehicles that grabbed his attention – it was the people lettering them that piqued his interest. In high school, he followed the vehicles and worked at an auto parts store and in gas stations before following his family's path into trucking and excavating. Even then, however, he found himself drawn to something more creative. In 1997, Alan began Pro Image Design, a sign design company that he ran out of his basement in Torch River. A self-taught designer, his products did the marketing for him, and a year later, he left the excavating business behind to design full-time. Partnering with his wife, Tara, they expanded their services to include promotional materials, paper supplies, and apparel in order to meet the needs of their growing customer base. By 2009, Pro Image had added enough employees and clients to open a sales office in Traverse City. They continued to expand their market, reaching further north each year. In 2014, they expanded once again, buying Sign & Design of Petoskey, an established sign manufacturer and design company. Today, with twenty employees in three locations, Pro Image Design is an award-winning design company with three International Sign Association awards and two United States Sign Council awards. They're also one of the few Underwriter's Laboratories certified sign shops in northern Michigan, which lets them design, engineer, manufacture, test and label all of their own signs without a third-party inspection, which means faster turn-around for their clients. It's that kind of service that has helped Pro Image Design become one of northern Michigan's most trusted design shops. While the quality of our work speaks for itself, it's the commitment to our core values that has earned vast customer loyalty.
