Bulls Gold

This week we gave our final thoughts on what direction the Bulls will go in during the NBA Draft. We discussed Coby White, Cam Reddish, and DeAndre Hunter among others. We also talked about Jaxson Hayes and tried to make sense of why the Bulls are intrigued by him. We reacted to the Zach LaVine trade rumors and the Bulls interest in Lonzo Ball before news broke of the Anthony Davis trade. We also discussed whether the additions of Chris Fleming and Roy Rogers to the Bulls coaching staff makes us more optimistic of Jim Boylen. We also made predictions of who the Bulls will select in the draft. 

Michael Walton of Bulls Confidential and NBC Sports Chicago returned to breakdown his favorite second round draft prospects. He told us how Jontay Porter can bounce back from his ACL injuries, the value Ty Jerome can bring to a team, and why Shamorie Ponds can be a nice flyer for the Bulls if they miss out on a PG in the first round. We also give our predictions for the direction we think the Bulls will go with the 7th and 38th picks in the draft.

Corey Tulaba of the Hardwood Herald joined us for a very detailed look at some of the Bulls potential draft options. Corey explained some of the allure behind Cam Reddish and the pitfalls that contributed to his underwhelming season at Duke. We also talked Darius Garland and Corey broke down why Garland could end up becoming one of the best players in the draft. We closed out with a discussion on Coby White and Corey explained some of the encouraging signs in White's game. Corey also gave us his sleeper choices in the first round, who the Bulls should target in the second round, and whether trading the pick for Lonzo Ball would be a wise move for the Bulls. 

Big Dave Watson of Bawl! Sports and Bulls Outsiders joined us to discuss the latest Bulls news coming out of the NBA Draft Combine. We went in depth on the Bulls options to find a point guard in the draft or free agency and Dave explained why Coby White may be a sneaky good pickup for the Bulls. We also discussed the Bulls interest in signing Terry Rozier or trading for Lonzo Ball. Dave also gave us his thoughts on which player he believes is the key to a Bulls turnaround, who the team will draft, and much more. 

For the third straight year, the Bulls will be picking 7th in the NBA Draft Lottery. Immediately following the lottery, we gave all our thoughts on the results. We discussed how the new draft odds caused chaos, the plan moving forward, the chances of trading the pick and who we currently like at #7. 

NBC Sports Chicago and Bulls Confidential writer Michael Walton II joined us for a very informative discussion on the Bulls options heading into next week's draft lottery. Michael went through the top players on his board and explained how Ja Morant and R.J. Barrett would fit with the Bulls. We then discussed the value of trading down in the draft and the debate of production vs. upside. Michael also gave us some of his sleepers for the Bulls in the second round. We also had reaction to the Bulls extending Jim Boylen's contract and the type of prospects that can fit Boylen's personality and coaching style. 

Mark Karantzoulis of BullsHQ returns to Bulls Gold to wrap up the Bulls regular season. We discussed the development of the Bulls roster, the players we're optimistic and pessimistic about, the team's midseason coaching change and rated the moves by the front office. 

We recapped John Paxson's end-of-season press conference and gave our reactions to some of his key responses. We also discussed Jim Boylen's potential three-year extension and what it means for the team going forward. 

The Bulls are finishing the 2018-19 season with one of the most injury-depleted lineups in team history. This week we discussed the injuries that plagued the Bulls this season and the organizational backfires behind it. We also talked about Walter Lemon Jr. and some of the other players who've stepped into the rotation to fill those shoes. We also wondered whether Zach LaVine is accurate in believing the Bulls will be a playoff team next season. 

This week, we focused on draft prospects. We talked about Ja Morant's performance against Marquette and Florida State, and talked about the comparisons to some of the league's top point guards. We also talked about how adding him could influence the rest of the team's offseason moves. We also had some discussion on Jarrett Culver and DeAndre Hunter, and the possibility that the Bulls could go with a big lineup by moving Zach LaVine to point guard. We also had some discussion on Lauri Markkanen's cold streak. We closed the episode with some MVP discussion and looked at the current playoff matchups.
