NGFP LOCAL LUNCH Friday 14 February

Bulwell Forest Garden

Hello and welcome to our weekly NGFP Local Lunch podcast where we provide you, our lovely listeners with everything you need to know about Nottingham’s local food heroes and how you can get more involved in our vibrant local food scene!

Local lunch is brought to you by me Shona Munro and me Penney Poyzer of Nottingham Good Food Partnership the go to organisation for sustainable food in our fair city.

This week we are on location at Bulwell Forest Garden which opened its gates to the public in 2012. We will meet Barbara Bates the founder, Adele who is one of the growers and Rezi who is cooking here today. We will also have a chat with local people who use the space to find out why it is so important to them. What a lovely space, every space needs a BFG imagine if Nottingham had this in every ward… we have a wonderful network of community gardens but we need even more. They provide such a wealth of services which make an enormous impact on the local community.

Our visit was AMAZING! We love BFG and the people so much. It is a huge space of 2.5 acres slap dab in the middle of a housing estate. Now it was a bit windy so there are a couple of bits where our words are blown away!

It is a really special space and a really enjoyable podcast!

Listen out for our podcast trailer for next week’s episode which will feature John Morgan who is managing director of Leonards Design, an international architectural practice based in Nottingham. John will be telling us about the Leonard’s green team and why he thinks food growing and access to nature should be part of design.

Simply search for NGFP Local Lunch and we will pop up!

See you then!
