The bums are back in the rail yard with S6:E0159 — where the top knot kicks off with regular season NFL action (it’s the most wonderful time of the year); the Bears hang 59 on the Panthers — Frosty the Iceman looked amazing; Polian and Dungy shown the HOF committee door; SEC saber rattling ensues; Arch Manning has shit on his shoes (and it won’t just go away with a lame apology on socials); Ann Arbor handing out extra seconds like candy on Halloween; MLB baseball is in the home stretch with both Chicago teams in contention; MVPete is on an absolute terror — 40/40 energy (as NFH is now sending Rocky PCA stuff on the gram — you read that right); LIV golf goes t*ts up; respect to former NHLer and ESPN caller —Barry Melrose; nutty ass NFL player DK Metcalf needs a travel agent; and close the top as WNBA wins gold for Merica but continue to step in it with bad press and worse decisions.

The ponytail snaps back with another infamous beer review as hometown fan favorite Old Irving Brewing cranks out “Montrose Connection” (ABV 5.7%), a killer wheated pale ale brewed with Shawnimals Art Studio; Paddy’s Northern MI  travelogue is recounted with gusto; visit to The House of Blues and TinLicker —an electronic music group from Utrecht, Netherlands; Eddie and Rocky provide a Riot Fest preview; the bums wishing RoboHip JL a speedy recovery (his convalescence is eating into our day drinking time); and close the back with a review of Rocky’s Week 1 brisket, which kicked off NFL’s Week 1 action on the wings of 14 hours of smoke (and an awesome peach cobbler courtesy of Chef Eddie).  Get some while it’s fresh — and before the Madden Curse chews us up and spits us out.

The bums return to the rail yard ready to jaw with Episode 0158, where the peak half gets right into golf brands ‘Good Good’ and ‘Callaway Golf’ and their misogynistic TV spot (unacceptable); Lane Kiffin gets kicked around the rail yard like a soccer ball; the bums rejoice as the NFL mercifully terminate the Pro Bowl tradition (fucking finally); Bob Kraft is a shifty one, and hard to keep up with; prodigal MLB son Rafael Devers returns to Fenway amongst a cloud of currents and futures; btw, do yourself a favor and get a good look at Willie May’s MLB legacy — all of it (jaw dropping). 

The valley half gets neck deck into another infamous double booze review, featuring works from Traverse City, MI in Farm Club’s “East Coast Pale Ale” (6.5% ABV) a 4-hop, hazy, New England-style pale ale with nice smacks of tropical, citrusy goodness— followed by a Newport, KY’s bourbon from New Riff “8-year-old Bourbon” (50% ABV. 8 years old. Mash bill: 65% corn, 30% rye, 5% malted barley), which is putting pressure on the big bourdon dogs; a legit bourbon that should be in your bar, smooth, an evenly balanced baker spiced pleasure to drink; pured one poured out for an absolute legend in Dolly Parton (old whites are on notice); TV sportscasting popularity is a fickle business, and Pat Mcafee is exhibit Fucking A—inexplicable; Eddie’s chow report with Chicago’s Giant (and their “eggplant dreams”) — song with a hat tip from Crying Tiger (Asian hit), Rocky’s Smoked Salmon dip; plans being drafted for The O’Hare Flyer (fingers crossed); Code Name of the Month is “Banjo”; TV bingers need to check Lioness, The Agency and Reacher off the list of must eats.   Get some before it gets too stale, Summer Hours affects production too — thank you for your patience.

The bums are finally back in the rail yard (mercifully) after a length summary hours hiatus with S6:E0157, where the sports gods prepare to unleash National Football League football in a mere matter of weeks (everyone rejoices); but before that, the Los Angelos Lakers have new dickhead ownership (the woe); the bums eclipse 8,000 downloads (ring the bell); some cautious realism is in Chicago’s MLB air  - both north and south; the Cross Town Classic will always include fights in the stands (it wos good enough for the Jets and Sharks, it’s good enough for the Cubs and Sox); Rob Manfred can’t do shit right; National League soon to be MVPer, PCA, has logged 30/30 with more season to go; the Seahawks ownership group has a share in the Niners (huh, isn’t that a CoI?); a CTC IDKNT edition ensues (more rejoicing); Rocky gets season tickets to his alma mater’s 2026 Football campaign in the brand spanking New Ryan Field (woohoo).

The flop snaps off with another intergalactically famous beer review, from the good people at Five Shores Brewing with their “Rhinegeist” (4.7% ABV) creation; Paddy connects warfare and craft beer with a special IDNKT segment (thanks Rude Dude); Rocky’s adventure in the Alaskan wilds fishing with the bears is recounted; Rocky and Paddy see a few firsts at Wrigley (comedy and blues edition); guess what drives why we can’t kick the plastic water bottle habit; Rocky has a rough few days between more Rat Wars and a deflated rack.   Get some before summer is gone.

The bums are back in the rail yard with S6:E0156, tapping dancing our way through more sports drivel in the first half; Frosty the Iceman has spoken on the Bears new home; Kevin Warren needs to pack his bags; Lord Stanley of Preston trophy winner; Blackhawk star Connor Bedard on the couch for 4 months; in NBA news, Eddie is not happy with the Spurs coaching (period); other chatter turns to a very long Empire State draught; Kawhi (pronounced Kauai) Leonard is firmly in the Tree Charity enterprise and could possibly be in some trouble; Cubs legend Anthony Rizzo spills the beans on teammate Yu Darvish (and his bad habit in the pachinkos); MLB’s golden 'Day Game' era is discussed; hot wife haver Justin Verlander is hanging up his spikes; the Future of PGA golf is a changing, and not everyone is liking it; and close the top with talk of degenerate, shitbag, gambling addict Brendan Sorsby who heads the way of the Supplementals.

The flip side begins with another infamous beer review, on the Cincinnati line with Sonder Brewing’s “You Betcha!” (ABV 6.5%), a hoppy and hazy New England IPA, a uniquely crafted juicy that is softer on the palate than expected, somewhat less bitter but not too sweet (Rocky’s pet peeve: switching gears, Eddie has had it with TV series The Bear (the Bataan death march of shows mercifully wraps); Irish exit protocol among family and friends is debated (or at least explained by way of example); the rise of Summer time ‘mini-fests’ is discovered; a bums summer travelogue with copious amounts of the Union Pier Grotto is recounted; and close with a loopback to 4th of July movie classic, “Jaws”, complete with awesome, old school beer sightings.   P.S. The bums are back in the rail yard with S6:E0155, and special guest Rude Dude; things kick off as Rude Dude runs the sports team gauntlet (a bums special guest tradition); the Stanley Cup Final series is a stupid name (not taking questions, open a grammar book); post season NHL and NBA is reviewed as the Knicks-Spurs and Golden Knights-Hurricanes duke it out; bon voyage to all-time Chicago Bull Stacy King; Cook County’s MLB report is a table turner as the Cubs most recently go 0-9-1 (that’s series, not games); while the pale hose take hold of 1st place in their division; college sports is an embarrassment of horrible ethics with their latest ruling on serial gambler Brendan Sorsby (fuck Texas Tech); the World Cup (Americas edition) kicks off; Rude Dude wants answers to the Bears stadium situation; and the first half closes as PGA legend Lefty gets too handsy with a female subject, and loses his home golf club locker.

The back half cracks off Cincy style, courtesy of Rude Dude, and Nine Giant Brewing’s ‘From the Heart v6’ (5.5% ABV) an amazing hoppy lager , followed by their ‘Retrograde’ (6.8% ABV) West Coast IPA creation — both amazing, both drinkable AF and jam packed with flavor without being overly sugary (high marks); Chicago’s Streets and Sanitation crews are at it again, ripping up Bums Boulevard yet again; Rude Dude goes to “church” with the bums for the first time; rain, rain go away (WTF - we’re over it); and end with a shout out to West Pointer, J, who completed his first evolution — earning 2nd lieutenant honors.  Get some before Cincy fans take it over.

The bums return to the rail yard with S6:E0154, where the prologue gets right into Chicago Bears news — headlined by non-performant President Kevin Warren and his ridiculous mishandling of the Bears stadium “project”, Rome O’s injured foot is permanently a different shape, Frosty the Iceman takes a crack at breaking the Madden curse; the Rams snap up Miles and leave Cleveland empty handed (again); the NBA finals are in full swing (for the 8 fans interested); a hapless fan gets an on-court selfie w/ Wemby but pays the ultimate price; and Jalen Brunson has a dust-up with court-side fans; and oh yeah, the Stanley Cup finals are happening as Vegas draws even.

The epilogue makes it’s mark with a brilliant creation from Chicago’s very own Old Irving Brewing — “Billy Goat Pilsner” (ABV 5.5%) — one of two beers in the Billy Goat Tavern collaboration series, a Czech-style Pilsner brewed with Pilsner malt, hopped with Saaz for an amazing tasting pils for the books; Summer time has arrived as Rocky’s rat wars heat up; mega franchise Seinfeld leaves Netflix after 9 years (a show about nothing could cost everything); Eddie stumps Widows Bay, a TV series set in a cursed New England town (high marks); Rocky misses the Yellowstone franchise but is making due; and close as the Summer of Golf amps up with Rocky’s slice wars campaign.  Get some while it’s fresh, even though the bums are not.

The bums are back in the rail yard with S6:E153, jumping right into Major League Baseball as the Cubbies continue their death spiral; is the South Side > the North Side?, are the Cubs sellers?; Byron Nuxton has the Sox number; Rude Dude finds a gem — 1971 MLB Allstar line-up (had the baseball minds twisted); Horseface hanging up his cleats (after he finishes driving the Steelers into the ground); another Packer is in hot water (boo hoo); Kenny Atkinson is a fucking dope; the Colorado Avs get whacked out to close out part one.

Part dos cracks off with another dope ass beer review, as Art History Brewing puts out another winner with “City Hall” (5.2% ABV), a helles lager; and Greyton Brewing earns a shout-out with Beach Blonde (4.8% ABV) lager; one beer resurrected while another dies a slow death; talk turns to the Mount Rushmore of craft beer (opinions were flowing); the Bums play Mountain Jam at church to squash some techno bullshit (all hail Touch Tunes); Memorial Day’s backyard bloodbath hits Mrs. Eddie between the eyes; Rocky is all-in on golf; Paddy attends a FL-style wedding; what the fuck is Bugonia (nobody knows); and close with a hearty HBD to GG (aka Genny Tacos).   Get some while it’s fresh — put up or shut up!

The bums are back in the rail yard with S6:E0152, just in time to recount the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby (Eddie gets paid AF); the Chicago Bears roster is taking shape between draft picks and offseason acquisitions; Bears schedule is no cake walk; the Canucks re-appear for a cameo (Rocky can’t hang with the hoser talk); and end the top with the fact that nobody gives a flying fuck about the NBA or NHL championship series’ (period).

The back nine zips into another intergalactically infamous beer review, starring Skokie, IL’s Sketchbook Brewing and their “Pink Sweater” creation (ABV 5.5%), a red rice American pilsner that is light and has plenty of flavor for clobbering this summer; all Laws aren’t created equally; Hollywood’s 30% rule is a thing; Seal Street Justice is effectively applied (FAFO department); Paddy’s running shoes are super comfortable at the expense of being ugly AF; the black hat fuckers are getting better and bolder (be vigilant); Customer Service’s circle of hell; and end with a plea for pleasant Memorial Day weather (thanks to all service members, past, present and future).  Get an earful before the tinnitus sets in.

The bums make a triumphant return to the rail yard — as Paddy returns from the wars of LBK, FL to reunite our trio;  NFL Draft season has come and gone, the bums break-down the Bears picks and acquisitions; Dan Hampton thinks Ben is arrogant; Babe Laufenberg and his place in IU draft history; a Masters recap ensues — Rory has a one chance to do something nobody else has done before; Sergio needs to explore why he’s so angry; the MLB has a few early dismissals (uncharacteristic) and ouch; the Cubs pitching roster looks like a M*A*S*H unit; and close the top half, as Dianna Rossini and Mike Vrabel find themselves in hot (tub) water.  

The second half snaps off with a Triple booze review, featuring a holy trinity of rum, beer and bourbon; Paddy shares Richland Rum’s “Single Estate Old South Georgia Rum’ (112.4 proof, 56.2% ABV), a copper pot distilled masterpiece from Brunswick, Georgia; Eddie, courtesy of BIL Big D, shares a creation from BuckleDown Brewing— ‘Party Pillow’ (5.3% ABV) an unfiltered Hefeweizen that’s yeasty and bready; and Rocky completes the cycle with Old Bourbon County’s ‘Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey’ (110 proof; 55% ABV), from Paris, KY, an amazing value production; Eddie and family get a good look at comedian Hannibal Buress in Skokie, IL (Google it); Dave’s legacy carries on — micro dose style (so appropriate); Rocky and Lucy visit Louisville during Kentucky Derby Kickoff (Sunday Funday at Churchill Downs); and close with highlights from Paddy’s 60-day sabbatical on the island of long boat key.  Get a fresh dose, all of them are free. The bums are back in the rail yard with another milestone episode — our 150th (back in the Eagle’s Nest HQ where it all started)!!!  The bums come off the top rope with Round 1 Master’s banter; March Madness wrap-up is covered with an emphasis on Maize-and-Blue’s epic journey (about fucking time the Big Ten had a decent showing; MLB opens as former Cub Jorge Soler and Reynaldo Lopez crack off pugilism style; the Cubs injury list (ouch, it hurts); Jamaican-America umpire C.B. Bucknor sucks a bag of you-know-whats (as receipts are now viewed in the public eye); Tiger hits his driver (again); an Angel heads south; and close as the Lady Vols are taking applications. 

The bums slide under the bottom rope with Part 2, and yet another “remote double-feature” beer review for the ages — showcasing Tampa Bay Brewing Co.’s “Reef Donkey” (ABV 5.5%), a likable American Pale Ale (APA) with a cool name that most won’t guess its meaning AND
Old Irving Brewing’s “Sir Reginald” (ABV 5.5%) a crisp Czech/Bohemian-style pilsner, hopped with 100% noble hops; a collab with Beard & Belly and Honey Pie for their 6th anniversary (and oh yeah, Rocky left it in the freezer too long — it was a little slushy but still tasty AF); the City of Chicago gets more FUs than a Trump rally; an secret revelation from a character from the pop-cult movie “Caddyshack”; the bums take LBK Florida by storm (the good kind); Paddy’s favorite local LBK haunts include ‘Shore’ on LBK, ‘Cask and Ale’ downtown Sarasota, and ‘Euphemia Haye and Haye Loft’ on LBK; and close with a shout-out to Eddie’s eldest (Miss O) as she continues to make us all feel older.  Get some of E150 before Miss O gets another year older — it’s going too fast.  All of this and some sketchy call-in sound quality, what’s not to like (that wasn’t a question).
