MBTA stations may feel a bit crowded through the next few weeks because the orange line is back after its month-long suspension!

Violent crimes around Cambridge, Mass. have risen to 308 in 2021, an increase of 12% over the previous year. This continues a trend for violent crimes in Cambridge, as more have been reported each year over the last five years. WTBU Reporter Reed O’Brien traveled to Porter Square to ask about violent crimes issues in the neighborhood.

Seanate Republicans do not know how to respond to South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham's latest proposed bill that aims to ban abortion nationwide after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Some GOP senators believe the abortion issues should be “left to the states” following the Supreme Court’s landmark decision to overturn Roe v. Wade over the summer. Graham’s proposal has the power to override state law and, because Massachusetts remains a state where women can safely terminate their pregnancies, Graham’s law would have the power to enact unwanted change.

The proposed bill is unlikely to pass anytime soon, but some Boston residents are concerned. WTBU reporter Chika Okoye has more.

Fenway Businesses Prepare for End of Season

With the Red Sox season coming to an end on Oct. 5th, local businesses around Fenway Park will have to adjust in order to attract customers.

Many businesses around Fenway were heavily affected by the pandemic. Some, like the Red Sox team store have rebounded after a successful season of sales. Others like Sal's Pizza are forced to close during the offseason due to insufficient sales.

A teenager was seriously injured after MBTA Transit Police say he allegedly jumped in front of a train at the Red Line's Shawmut Station.

The incident was reported last week, and was the cause of massive delays and traffic on the Line.
